Thanks To Fascistic Trump I’m Now Immobile For Christmas

I recently received this bullshit disabilist tweet from somebody who’s quite obviously a Tory troll.

Yes of course I must be lying my fucking arse off about being disabled because I’m not dribbling whilst sat in a wheelchair 100% of the time unable to comprehend the world. I can most definitely testify from personal experience as disabled person that the disablist attitude exhibited by this Tory troll is sadly pretty prevalent amongst the general populous, people really do seem to think that unless you’re not visibly sat in a wheelchair 100% of the time then your bullshitting the world about being disabled. What’s particularly irksome isn’t just that many people can’t grasp not all disabilities are visible & that those disabilities which are invisible are often the most debilitating of disabilities, it’s the contradictory bullshit of accusing disabled people of using whatever disabilities they suffer from as an excuse in not making enough effort to do whatever but then accusing disabled people of lying about being disabled when they do make an effort to do whatever, in other words when I do make effort to get out & about to do whatever despite being disabled I’m accused of lying about being disabled yet if I didn’t make an effort to get out & about to do whatever because of being disabled I’m then accused of using my disabilities as an excuse to be lazy, seems to me cynicism has replaced compassion regards the general attitude of people in this country towards disabled people.

For the record I suffer from multiple disabilities (not all of which are visible) including physical disabilities effecting my mobility, for the record whenever I have attended any protest or parade in London I’ve more often then not been laid up unable to walk for more then day afterwards, but it’s not just the next few days I’m going to be laid up unable to walk as a consequence of having attended yesterday’s Anti-Trump demo in London but I’m going to be immobile for the entirety of Christmas due to having tripped & fallen & in process knackering my right knee as well as spraining my left ankle.

yours truly at yesterday’s Anti Trump demo prior to busting my knee

When I tripped & fell as the anti-Trump demo was setting off from Trafalgar Square to march on Buckingham Palace where Queen Lizzy was hosting a reception for Donald Trump & other NATO leaders, it wasn’t the pain from having tripped & fallen in the manner I did that had me in floods of tears, but the police & stewards who’d gathered round me to see if I was okay misgendering me as ‘he’, which was kind of frigging ironic as I was attending this Anti-Trump demo to represent trans people as Indeed I have when I’ve attended all the other Anti-Trump demos I’ve managed to attend over the past couple of years.

With yesterday’s Anti Trump demo there were activists giving speeches about all usual leftwing concerns you’d expect activists to be making speeches about at an Anti-Trump demonstration, justice for Palestinians, fuck off NATO, Trump is a racist & Islamophobe & a misogynist, all which being a redder then red socialist I of course agree with, but there wasn’t one LGBTQ activist or more specifically trans activist speaking from the platform yesterday thus no mention of Trump’s rabid transphobia despite it being more then fucking evident that from the moment he took office his administration has been waging a war against trans people. Though Paris Lees did get to speak at a previous Anti-Trump demo back in the summer of 2018 which was attended by 300,000 people (me included) usually there’s been an absence of trans or even LGBTQ speakers at the Anti-Trump demos there have been & generally when it comes to antifascist demonstrations. Don’t the Stop The War Coalition or Unite Against Fascism or the Socialist Workers Party or whichever leftwing activist group who’ve been organising Anti-Trump & antifascist demos not know Trump is being a colossal cunt towards trans people, do they not think the rise is the far-right isn’t an increasing threat to LGBTQ people & specifically trans people?

It’s because of the lack of LGBTQ representation & specifically the lack of trans representation there has been from platform at Anti-Trump & antifascist protests which is exactly the reason why I attend these kind of protests waving a Trans Pride flag like a motherfucker & why there needs to be far more trans visibility amongst the demonstrators at these sort of protests as a reminder trans people are very much threatened by the rise of the far-right in fact more so then any other section of the LGBTQ community. Some might pooh-pooh my personal efforts to increase trans visibility in the fight against fascism making bollock all difference, however to my surprise a trans friend who ‘s a working-class Tory actually applauded me for my efforts in trying to increase trans visibility when it comes to demonstrating against Trump. It’s certainly not a good thing to have busted my knee thanks to Donald Trump being a fascist fuck, but having a Tory of all people appreciate me for the effort I’ve made in trying raise trans visibility when it comes to protesting Trump well that actually means a great deal to me & goes a long way to making up for the physical agony I’m having to endure this festive season.

Giving The Finger To Trump Is More Then Just About Hands Off Our NHS

Donald Trump arriving in Britain last night with wife Melania

Donald Trump arrived in Britain yesterday evening in Britain for a NATO summit & this afternoon thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people will be gathering on the streets of central London to say no to NATO, no to robbing us of our NHS & generally telling Trump the fascistic cunt to FUCK OFF.

NATO might be the longest standing military alliance in world history (so we are told) with the current summit here in Britain being attended by Donald Trump as well as leaders from other signatory member nations, the purpose of which is in part to mark or commemorate the 70th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty’s inception. But post the Cold War what has NATO become other then hired goons for the Military Industrial Complex, there’s a country full of poverty stricken people with brown skin but has an abundance of natural resources usually predominately oil, then NATO is always ready to go bomb & plunder & generally leave the country in a far worse state. Weird how Nigel Farage wants the UK out of EU, but has no problem with us being part of NATO, despite the fact that it’s stipulated with the North Atlantic Treaty that an attack on one signatory member state is attack on all signatory member states, thus if the United States is attacked due to its dubious foreign policy then that entangles the UK militarily.

I guess NATO bombing the shit out of countries full of poverty-stricken people with brown skin to plunder their nation of it’s natural resources, won’t be the primary reason the majority of people will be protesting in central London this afternoon, no I’d imagine the primary reason the vast majority of people will be protesting Donald Trump will be the revelation that the Tory government have been in secret negotiations with the Trump administration to give American corporations ‘full market access’ to the NHS.

It was Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn who last week of course held a press conference where he revealed 400+ pages of documentation revealing the Tories have indeed been in secret negotiations to give ‘full market access’ to the NHS in a proposed free trade deal with the United States & ‘full market access’ is code for the privatisation of the NHS, so no fucking wonder people would want to come onto the streets to protest fearful that post Brexit we could see the end of this nation’s most treasured institution & one of this nation’s greatest achievements.

Despite Corbyn having produced documented evidence that the Tories are planning the privatisation of the NHS, granting Trump & his billionaire vampirical capitalist buddies access to be able to have a feeding frenzy in its privatisation, the Tories response to this has been to accused Corbyn & Labour of fearmongering, spreading fake news & propagating a conspiracy theory. I think the Tories know an awful lot more than Labour this General Election campaign when it comes to spreading fake news, as for conspiracy theories, I seriously doubt Jeremy Corbyn gets his news from Infowars or is a regular listener to Alex Jones’s radio show, however Donald Trump does appear to be an avid reader of Infowars & in the past has seemed awfully friendly with Alex Jones.

I’m certainly fearful as fuck that in a post Brexit Britain we could see the end of universal healthcare particularly as less then 2 years ago I suffered a heart attack & thus I know from very personal experience about the NHS saving lives, I’ll certainly be protesting this afternoon against Trump robbing us of the NHS, but I’ll also be there because I’m a trans woman & no trans woman can forget the war on trans people being orchestrated by the Trump administration.

This afternoon in central London I’ll waving my Trans Pride flag, as Trump’s administration since the very the moment he took office has seemed to have had a particular prejudice against trans people, crushing legal protections for trans people & supporting laws which discriminate against trans people in the United States. I just know some fuckwit is going to ask me how does the Trump administration persecuting trans people in the United States affect me as a trans person living in Britain because apparently I shouldn’t care about trans people if they don’t live in Britain. There is such a thing as the ‘Trump effect’ which has reached these shores in the form of the homophobic/transphobic protests there’s recently been outside schools in Birmingham, which no doubt have been spurred on due to funding from the Christian Right/Far-Right in the United States who feel emboldened because Trump the fascistic bigoted cunt is in the White House.

Thoughts On Which Party Is Possibly Best When It Comes To The Issue Of Trans Rights

This past Sunday morning I was as per usual watching the BBC’s Andrew Marr Show being the political anorak that I’m & completely out of nowhere Andrew Marr asked Labour’s Angela Rayner whether the party was planning to make it easier for those people choosing to transition gender when it comes to legally self-identifying? Err? What? Marr you transphobic plank, I can testify as a trans woman myself that you don’t choose to be trans it’s ain’t a lifestyle choice! Angela Rayner did pull Andrew Marr up for making out that being transgender was a ‘lifestyle choice’ & then proceeded to detail many of the issues trans people face & that she fully supports trans equality.

I know that members of the Labour leadership such as Angela Raynor & Dawn Butler are strong supporters of trans people & trans rights, in fact I met Dawn Butler last year when she gave a speech in support of trans people at a conference that I was attending & her speech I remember was something which triggered a tsunami of abuse on social-media directed at Dawn personally from transphobic gobshite bigots. Transphobic bigots are again unhappy with Dawn because as Labour’s shadow equalities minister she has said there should be no discrimination against trans people regards single-sex spaces, yes I know it’s a fucking outrageous idea that trans people should be able to eat at the same lunch counter as cis people, for us be able to drink from the same water fountain, trans people we should know our place at the back of the bus & we must absolutely never use the same toilets as cis people. Despite from what Dawn Butler & Angela Raynor have said in support of trans people during the election campaign, some trans people have accused Labour of dog whistle transphobia in its manifesto as it states in the manifesto that a Labour government would enforce exemptions regards single-sex spaces, in other words they’d enforce discrimination against trans people, so there does seem to be a contradiction between what the manifesto states regards equality for trans people & what Labour politicians are saying regards equality for trans people.

Liberal Democrat leader Jo Swinson appeared directly after Angela Rayner on this past Sunday’s edition of the Andrew Marr Show & Andrew Marr asked Swinson in a similar manner about the Lib Dems support to make it easier for trans people to self-identify & not have to jump through hoops to validate our gender identity as we have to currently, the Lib Dems have certainly been banging the drum as loud as they are able to this election campaign about their support for trans equality & there is a decent chance at this election that one of their parliamentary candidates Helen Belcher being elected as Britain’s first trans MP. But how much the Lib Dems love to loudly trumpet that they’re uber champions of trans equality, they don’t think other oppressed minorities such as disabled people deserve greater social-justice & though at a national level the Lib Dems are all very pro LGBTQ that’s not necessarily the same at a local level because I do recall a local Lib Dem councillor telling round the time civil partnerships became legal for same-sex couples that she had nothing against gays & lesbians just so long as they didn’t live next door to her.

Tory slime ball & cokehead Michael was also on the Andrew Marr Show this past Sunday, but Andrew Marr didn’t ask the Tory slime-ball & cokehead where the Tories stood regards making it easier for trans people to self-identify, strange to me as he’d asked Labour’s Angela Rayner & Lib Dem leader Jo Swinson where they stand on the issue & strange because it was the Tories who first under David Cameron & then Theresa May were pushing to make it easier for trans people to self-identify. My understanding is that the Tories have dropped support for reforms to the Gender Recognition Act since Boris moved into No10 & he’s also appointed known Tory transphobes to top jobs in the cabinet such as Liz Truss who has links with a transphobic hate group. Obvious to me the Tories are moving to the hard right with Boris Johnson at the helm, which likely means if they’re re-elected on December 12th then there’s going to be a government far less supportive of trans people & far less friendly to the wider LGBTQ community.

I often get complaints from fellow trans people about not writing enough about trans issues, maybe I don’t write enough about trans issues but there are other issues which equally affect me because I’m much more then just trans. What I’m essentially saying to trans people is don’t get to wrapped up in the importance of trans rights that it blinds you to other issues at stake with this General Election which will affect you, yes most definitely trans rights are important you needn’t tell me as I’m a trans woman who in her time has been an extremely vocal trans activist, but what good are rights & equality if the environment is becoming so fucked up its become inhabitable.

The Day After Trans Pride Brighton

I’ve been downing Tramadol this morning after Trans Pride Brighton as if they were fucking Smarties due to the physical agony attending events such as Trans Pride Brighton & Pride in London has on disabled me, however the physical agony I now feel due to my exertions yesterday in attending TPB was worth it not only when it comes to the reward in being able to do my bit to champion the trans cause & to shout loudly & proudly trans is beautiful, but because this was the best TPB for me on a personal level specifically due to two fellow trans women I met

I want to give a special mention to both Patricia & Dee who I met at Trans Pride Brighton as they were both were really sweet by simply being welcoming of me, with being autistic & physically disabled I’ve often found it hard to socially connect with people at events such as TPB & often found people who I thought would be friendly towards me not actually being very welcoming of me at all, so yeah it meant a lot there were people at TPB wanting to know me & who I also discovered really value the stuff I write. Patricia is the chief organiser of the trans group I’ve more often than not marched with in the Pride London parade, though we’ve only recently become far more friendly to one another & I’ve discovered that despite various political differences Patricia is one of the sweetest trans women I’ve ever met, I also discovered that despite our political differences Patricia has been moved to tears by some of the articles I’ve written of late. Dee I met for the first time at TPB 2019, I actually thought she was going to ask for my autograph as she really did come over as something of a mega fan of my whole ‘don’t give a fuck’ style of writing, she was definitely expressing a great deal of praise about me as a writer to her friends, I’m seriously blown the fuck away because usually I’m met with quite a bit of indifference about the stuff I write even from those who claim they ‘care’ about me.

As lovely as it might have been for Trans Pride Brighton to facilitate my ego being massaged & thus helping to make this the best TPB on a personal level, of far more importance is that organisers are saying overall this is the best TPB there’s been so far, there definitely appeared to be more people participating in the TPB parade along the Brighton seafront & there definitely were more attendees both trans & cis at the park event & the park was chock full stalls more then there’s previously been giving out info on all kinds of trans related stuff.

Well I’m pleased to report this year’s Trans Pride Brighton there was no attempt by terfy transphobic bigoted motherfuckers to spoil the event with some disruptive stunt to push their odious agenda of transphobic hate, though the bigoted motherfuckers have been getting their panties in a bind online about Green Party MP & former party leader Caroline Lucas having attended TPB. Caroline Lucas was indeed in attendance at this year’s TPB & it’s not the first she’s attended because as being the local MP she also steadfastly supports greater equality & social-justice for trans people & reiterated this in the awesome speech she gave when addressing those of us who were about to participate in the TPB parade along Brighton’s promenade, I’d expect nothing from Caroline because I’ve long known she’s fucking awesome!

Caroline Lucas at Trans Pride Brighton

Maybe it’s time terfy transphobic bigoted motherfuckers twigged they’re very much on the wrong side of history as they’ve lost their culture war against the trans community which was always was fucking asinine in the first place, because it’s not just Caroline Lucas or Jeremy Corbyn & MPs on the left of the political spectrum who support trans people’s wish to live free as their true selves & to do so without harassment for being their true selves. Maybe terfy transphobic bigoted motherfuckers ought to do the decent thing & fuck off & literally choked on their sour grapes, certainly time they realised their political friends aren’t to be found on the radical-left but on the far-right, as TERFs obsessive hatred of trans people & in particular of trans women has a great deal in common with the far-right & their brand of bigoted hate.

One thing which I took away from this year’s Trans Pride Brighton which gave me hope for the future was when talking to younger trans & non binary activists whilst marching in the TPB parade who like myself fear the increasing rise of the far-right & thus are very much dedicated to campaigning against the threat the far-right pose, good news to hear the future generation of trans activists are taking the threat which the far-right pose far more seriously as it’s been my experience in the recent past that those Guardian reading middle-class trans women who’ve tended to steer the direction of the trans community have been far too complacent about the threat which the far-right pose & thus have never been that willing to do anything to effectively campaign against the far-right.

The growth of Trans Pride Brighton from where it started in back in 2013 to the size it is in 2019 has been an astonishing success & I’m proud to have been part of it’s success, long may TPB grow & have increasing success in being able to raise awareness of the trans cause & to champion trans is beautiful! As long as terfy transphobic bigots have influence in the mainstream media, so long as the mainstream media continues to attack the trans community, so long as there are increasing physical assaults motivated by transphobic hate, so long as trans people aren’t receiving adequate healthcare, so long as the far-right pose a threat to there being diversity & tolerance of diversity, there will be a need for TPB.

Not Sure What Other Trans People Are Planning To Do This Weekend But I’m Heading For Trans Pride Brighton

I can take it to my grave that back in 2013 I was at the inaugural Trans Pride Brighton where there was less then 10 of us on the parade through the streets of Brighton & a half empty park sparsely filled with stalls, five years on & last year Trans Pride Brighton had grown into the biggest trans orientated Pride event in Europe with near on 10,000 participating in the parade along Brighton’s promenade & a park full to capacity which was chock full of stalls championing the trans cause. There’s most definitely been rapid growth (& then some) with Trans Pride Brighton & I’m proud to have been year on year part of TPB’s rapid development, so this coming Saturday I’m planning to again be proudly part of TPB & I encourage all trans comrades if able to also make an effort in attending because trans visibility is such a crucial facet to our success.

Yours truly along with other trans comrades at the very first Trans Pride Brighton back in 2013

Sarah Savage & Fox Fisher & everybody else who got the ball rolling with Trans Pride Brighton & who continue to invest their energy in keeping TPB going should be commended for their efforts, having the foresight to make TPB happen in the first place & subsequently seeing an explosive growth in the event has had over the past 6 years has proven that for trans people our time is now! But despite there seeming to be far more support & acceptance of trans people here in the UK, despite the trans community getting far more attention than it ever has previously & despite the trans community having far more of an impact on wider society then it’s ever had, despite it all adding up to appearing that our time is now, we still very much need an event such as Trans Pride Brighton to have continued growth & success because there’s still much work to be done to seriously improve the plight of many trans people. There’s still much work to be done regards raising awareness of the specific issues all us trans people face on a daily basis & how best to address such issues, we are still faced with unacceptable amounts of discrimination as well as out & out transphobic hate reports of which seem to sadly be on the increase, there are still extremist transphobic bigots who’ve not grasped they’ve lost the culture war & have far too much influence, oh & then there’s Boris Johnson becoming the UK’s next Prime Minister which won’t necessarily mean he’ll be full on Donald Trump in attitude towards trans people but I do think a Tory government under Boris will lurch towards the hard-right thus possibly not be as pro trans nor pro LGBTQ as they have recently been, so having as massive of an event as Trans Brighton can get is important as it helps to draw more attention to all of what I’ve detailed plus much more & the more the numbers of attendees are bolstered by trans people the better.

Trans Pride 2014

It’s not just the more trans people who attend Trans Pride Brighton the more its going to help attract attention from the mainstream news media thus helping to increase trans awareness, it’s also about a show of force as in a positive show of force with strength in numbers against those who would like nothing better then to wipe us from the face of the earth. Remember I previously mentioned there were extremist transphobic bigots who hadn’t grasped they’ve lost the culture war, well last year these terfy motherfuckers disrupted Pride in London to protest trans inclusion, then attempted to gain entry to last year’s TPB event to push their odiously hateful agenda but ended up with a small number of them hurling abuse from a distance as we paraded along the seafront in Brighton which was met with several thousand of us giving them the wanker sign. Because I doubt any these bigoted motherfuckers have fucked off to choke on their sour grapes having finally grasped they’ve lost the culture war, they might very well attempt to disrupt this year’s TPB event & its perfectly understandable why the prospect of transphobic bigots possibly disrupting TPB which might put off some trans people from attending, but I’d point out scaring trans people away from attending TPB is exactly what transphobic bigots want to do & major means by which we will defeat these bigoted bullies is to show we are not fucking scared of them with a show of strength in numbers, this is why I’ve long said the more trans visibility is a crucial plank to our success as the more trans visibility there is then the less we will eventually be bullied for simply being our true selves as it illustrates the bullies can’t win.

trans model & activist Munroe Bergdorf with yours truly at Trans Pride Brighton 2018

I might not always feel welcome at TPB when it comes to the whole social-networking stuff, always feel somewhat left out in cold with people & their particular circle of friends at Trans Pride Brighton, but I always try to remember the bigger picture there is with TPB & by helping to further the trans cause with my attendance.

Ode To Tempest

So I’ve gone from writing about fighting Zionism & averting climate-catastrophe to now writing about trans musicians, yes for a weighty if very fucking sweary political commentator such as I’m this might appear totally eccentrically off the fucking wall & that I’m losing the plot, however never forget I’m a trans woman who cares a great deal about the plight of the trans community & obviously care in particular about trans sister friends of mine.

Laura Jane Grace is the name which most comes to mind when talking about trans musicians, but there are others such as Mina Caputo the lead singer of Life Of Agony (who I’m in fact listening to as I write this) & those of a certain age will of course remember Jayne County & those of us who really know their stuff will be aware of Venus Demars, oh then there’s my friend Tempest Crane who if you hadn’t guessed from the article’s title is the main subject matter of this article because not only is she a talented musician but she also has a special place in my heart when it comes to my own trans journey.

Tempest Crane

I won’t go into all the details as to how a mouthy South African political polemicist living a small town in the South East of England got to know a trans musician with full on rock & roll attitude living in Minneapolis in the Mid-West of the United States, other then then to say hey that’s the magic of the internet & its thanks to the magic of the internet which led to me crossing paths with Tempest as to why it is I now sit here as trans woman writing this. These days it’s common to hear so many in the trans community shout fuck the gender binary & being trans is about liberating one’s self from gender constraints, but back in 2008 this was far more unusual & Tempest was the first trans woman proudly advocating such radicalism, she was first trans woman I had encountered who thought trans wasn’t a blight or a curse but a gift of liberation & this was a serious breathe of fresh air to what I had previously experienced with other trans women, more importantly when I fessed up I knew full well I had gender dysphoria she spent almost 2 years encouraging me to come out & when I did eventually come out as trans in 2010 the first phone conversation we had subsequently I distinctly remember her saying well you’re going to be a lot happier now & hearing a serious sigh of breathe from her.

I credit Tempest as one of two trans women who did the most to encourage me to transition, but not only was Tempest correct about me being a great deal happier having come out as trans because overall my life over the past decade has been far happier now I’m far more at ease in my own skin, what is now mainstream thinking within the trans community is what Tempest was advocating over a decade ago, well anyways as a means of a very belated thanks for what Tempest did for me a decade ago I want to big her up for the talented musician she is.

I appreciate that Laura Jane Grace is out there in the spotlight of the mainstream media giving trans women positive representation with her band Against Me, but as somebody who is about as Punk Rock as you get as anybody who knows me can testify I find Against Me a bit tame & boring for a supposed Punk Rock band, Mina Caputo & life of agony have far more alt rock with edge & certainly have more Punk Rock swagger, if however your looking for a trans musician who looks full on rock & roll & is full on rock & roll then its my fellow trans sister Tempest as she oozes motherfucking rock & roll swagger with every molecule of her being.

Tempest when she first came out as trans had played bass along with fellow trans musician Jendeen Forberg on drums in Venus Demars’s band All The Pretty Horses, as I guess trans musicians involved in the Minneapolis’s music scene were going to be drawn together, however Tempest along with Jendeen has shone far more as the talented musician & showman in their own band Harsh Reality. Heavy Metal is not quite my thing other than with the odd crossover band with Punk such as Motorhead (which incidentally I & Tempest are both massive fans of), but from what I’ve seen of the live performances of Tempest’s band Harsh Reality, you’re going to get a live music experience you ain’t going to forget in a fucking hurry.

It’s not as if Tempest just got off the bus with a guitar & overnight expected to be a rock star, she’s put in hard fucking graft with hours upon hours of practice & live performances, touring with all the shitty food & shitty motels which come along with it, she deserves far more recognition then she has gotten. Okay plenty of talented musicians never make it to the big time & the same goes with writers (don’t I just fucking know it ha fucking ha), however I’d interject that Tempest lives in the United States of Donald Trump & we know how Trump’s America detests trans people.

I write this in thanks to what Tempest did for me a decade ago but also because I’ve never expressed I’ve loved her for who & what she is from the very beginning of having known her. Tempest has a had a pretty tough time of it lately & well it’s now my time to encourage her never to give up on her dreams for she is rock & rock, for she is beautiful.

Does Labour & the Left Have An Issue With Not Only Pride in London But Generally With The LGBTQ Community?

With this past Saturday having been Pride in London & possibly in reaction to transphobes having disrupted the start of last year’s Pride in London parade to push their odious agenda of trans exclusion, Jeremy Corbyn authored an article for Pink News urging the rejection of transphobic campaigns. Being a trans woman who’s met Jeremy Corbyn on several occasions & spoken with him on those occasions about trans rights & knowing he has one the best (if not the best) voting records of any MP when it comes to trans issues, I’m certain he fully supports equality for trans people, but the same can’t be said sadly for a good proportion of those who appear to be his most hardcore supporters.

yours truly with Jeremy Corbyn

When I posted the article Jeremy had authored for Pink News speaking out against transphobic campaigns on various Facebook groups in support of Jeremy as Labour leader, well some of the responses included  ‘He didn’t write the article so it can’t be assumed these are actually his views’ & ‘transphobia comes from the right so I really hope he is not taken in by the reframing of feminism as transphobia’ & other more extreme transphobic TERF type bullshit hate, I don’t know if any of those posting this shite are actual paid up Labour Party members, because despite Labour in the past year having expelled a number of transphobic activists. Labour still have an issue with transphobia amongst it’s ranks probably greater then there’s an issue with antisemitism. Unlike with antisemitism where there’s some ambiguity because people conflate legitimate criticism of the Israeli government with actual hatred of Jewish people, with transphobia its pretty black & white, if you deny the gender identity of any trans woman & deny them equal rights with any cis woman then you are being transphobic, plus if you are prepared to deny equality to trans women & trans people in general then you are in fact going against the principles which Labour have long espouse, but the nastiness there’s been within Labour hasn’t in fact surprised me as over years I’ve become increasingly aware of the lack of support with there is with the hard left when it comes to the concerns of LGBTQ people & in particular criticism of Pride in London.

I can’t say that the criticisms of Pride in London having become ‘too commercialised & corporate’ is necessarily a disguised homophobic/transphobic agenda as I’ve heard plenty of criticism of Pride in London having become too corporate from LGBTQ activists on the left of the political spectrum, Peter Tatchell has certainly been one prominent LGBTQ activist on the political left who’s been extremely vocal in protesting that Pride’s political message is being lost due to all the commercialisation & corporate sponsorship there’s now associated with Pride in London. Having attended Pride in London now for many years, I’ve seen the increasing corporate involvement in the event with Apple, Facebook, Barclays, Sainsbury’s & even the housing association who are my landlord having floats in the parade going through the streets of London, but it’s that corporate sponsorship which keeps Pride free for me & every other LGBTQ activist who does have a political message to march in the parade.

It’s not as if I don’t sympathise with some of the anticapitalist criticisms against Pride in London, the main argument being it’s all very well for tech giants such as Facebook, Apple & Amazon being socially progressive in publicly supporting LGBTQ friendly, but these companies dodge paying corporation tax in UK & any other taxes they should be paying. Of course the likes of Amazon & Apple & whichever other major corporation should be forced to pay the taxes they ought to be paying if they want to trade in this country, as its unfair to small & medium sized businesses as well as a detriment to society as a whole, but this doesn’t take away from the fact the likes of Apple & Amazon are prepared to be seen to support LGBTQ Pride events, would you rather those corporations weren’t LGBTQ friendly & supportive of the LGBTQ community?

I can remember a time when it was perfectly legal for a company to sack an employee for being LGBTQ & I don’t particularly want to back that kind bullshit which leads me onto the criticism lefties who are far more cynical have against Pride in London, this being various corporations support Pride in London as it’s a means of free advertising by having a float plastered with their corporate logo in the parade traversing the streets of the capital yet if you delved a bit deeper into how these companies actually treat their employees you’d likely find these companies aren’t as LGBTQ friendly as they’d like us to believe, hey I’m not going to deny that some of those same corporations who have floats in the Pride in London parade aren’t as LGBTQ friendly as they’d like you to believe & if there are corporations who are pledging support for LGBTQ Pride but are still treating LGBTQ employees like shit for being LGBTQ then this definitely needs to be exposed & opposed.

It’s a misnomer that corporations get ‘free advertising’ by having a float in the Pride in London parade plastered in their corporate logo, they actually have to pay to have a float in the parade & their contributions ensure I & other trans members of the LGBTQ community get to march in the Pride in London parade for free & thus trans people get the opportunity to promote the need for greater trans equality for free & there is definitely a need to be promoting greater trans equality & I nor any trans activist is going to turn down such an opportunity, ah but the hard left anticapitalist argument here is its all very well corporate sponsorship of Pride in London helping trans people to campaign for justice & equality but what about those same corporations being unscrupulous & unethical in it’s business practices in the developing world by employing child labour & generally fucking up the environment & whatever other egregious bullshit, to which my response is if major corporations are up to no fucking good in the developing world is the same as above which is expose & oppose the fuckers.

It’s not just with Pride in London being too capitalistic which the hard left has an issue with, nor is it just with trans women because a number have been indoctrinated with transphobic rhetoric mistakenly thinking it’s ‘radical feminism’, my impression is it’s with the entire LGBTQ community & our struggle. My experience over the years since I came out as a trans woman & a lesbian, is the hard left aren’t in fact that supportive of the LGBTQ community, my conclusion as to why they’re not as supportive as you might think a political grouping who bangs on awful about equality would be is it’s maybe due the hard left view just about everything through the prism of class struggle & thus seem to view the LGBTQ community & our own struggle as the product of bourgeois vanity & decadence, or maybe it’s because LGBTQ issues cut across the class divide thus they’re Tory toffs who are LGBTQ & if you’re narrowminded enough to view everyfuckingthing through the prism of class struggle then you’re going to be all at sea when it comes to those issues which cut cross the class divide. Maybe the hard left haven’t been as supportive as they use to be of the LGBTQ community is due to there being greater LGBTQ acceptance there are LGBTQ people living more comfortable lives, maybe it’s because LGBTQ people aren’t screaming for the complete destruction of neoliberal-capitalist system, maybe it’s just because of residual homophobia/transphobia.

Yes the Labour Party needed to move to the left as Blairites were far too much in love with neoliberal-capitalism & neoliberal-capitalism hasn’t been serving the interests of the many, but the less I felt welcomed as a trans woman within the party the further the party travelled leftwards with not just tolerance for those espousing transphobic rhetoric but electing them to positions of influence & power within the party, the party wouldn’t tolerate racists so which it tolerating transphobes, well this once-upon-a-time paid up member of the Labour Party who voted for Jeremy Corbyn to lead the party is now no longer a member, sure I’ll vote Labour at the next General Election but that’s only because I’m not a single issue voter & the Green Party have just as much of an issue with transphobic bigots amongst their membership.

Reflections On 2019’s Pride In London

Pride in London is the one day of the year where you get cheered on for being trans & that you get cheered on by hundreds of thousands lining the streets of the capital as you march in the Pride parade for being trans is an experience that’s exhilarating as feck, it’s the reason I’ve kept on marching year on year in the Pride in London parade since I came out as trans almost a decade ago, no matter year after year the increasing physical pain I feel from participating in the Pride in London parade. But it’s not just the personal exhilaration I feel from being cheered on as I walk through the streets of London for being trans as to why I’ll put up with the physical anguish I’m feeling right now despite having been chugging Tramadol as if they were smarties, I’m prepared to endure physical pain from marching around London on a humid Saturday afternoon to further trans visibility because it’s the least I can do when far too many trans women & trans men & gender-non-conforming people have suffered far worse for simply being visibly themselves

A reminder of the role trans people have played in the struggle for LGBTQ acceptance came at Pride in London with public address announcers on the route of the march with remembrance that this year is the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots & it was trans women who were central to instigating the Stonewall Riots, a reminder that trans women were central to the most significant event which led to the LGBTQ civil rights movement as we now know it & thus we were very much involved at the very inception of LGBTQ civil rights movement, we’ve always been part of the LGBTQ community & central to pushing for greater LGBTQ acceptance no matter how much TERF & truscum bigoted fucks attempt to rewrite history. Yes unfortunately there were TERF bigots at yesterday’s Pride in London parade, a group of TERF bigots did come running past the trans group I was marching with as we waited to set off on the parade shouting some bullshit about how this wasn’t our pride but theirs, yeah well we loudly told them in no uncertain terms to FUCK OFF!

yours truly at Pride in London

At least with 2019’s Pride in London there wasn’t a repeat of what happened last year when a group of TERF bigots hijacked the start of the parade to push their hatefully odious agenda of trans exclusion, instead this Pride in London was led with a lesbian group showing solidarity with trans sisters by marching with a #LwiththeT banner, an obvious attempt of Pride in London organisers to make amends. Though it was good move to have a lesbian group lead the Pride in London parade as misconceptions need be dispelled & the truth needs to be illustrated that the vast majority of cis lesbians do in fact support their trans sisters, an illustration that with the LGBTQ community there’s more which unites us then divides us, personally I would have still preferred if an out & out trans group had led the parade as a means to make a amends for last year as well as acknowledgement of the contribution trans people have made to the LGBTQ community with this being the year which marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots etc.

Lesbians showing solidarity with trans sisters lead the 2019 Pride in London parade

I’m not sure as to exact reason why Mermaids a trans charity which helps trans youth weren’t at the front of this year’s Pride in London parade because it would have been fitting as it would have shown solidarity from Pride in London against the continuous attacks in the Tory press against Mermaids for daring to actually help & support trans kids, however Mermaids did have a presence further back in the parade & did make an impression with their presence.

I’m glad Mermaids were in attendance at this year’s Pride in London just as I’m glad of all the trans presence there was at this year’s Pride in London, trans visibility is so vital to the trans community gaining greater social-justice & didn’t hurt that TransPals whom I was marching with had a fuck off gigantic Trans Pride flag hehehe.

I actually want to close this article by giving special thanks to Patricia Curtis of TransPals as she far too much grief & not enough thanks for the work as a trans activist she does.

Here’s Hoping To See Trans People Come Out En Masse For Pride In London

I’ll most definitely be waving my Trans Pride flag tomorrow whilst marching in the annual Pride in London parade & I hope I’m one of many visible trans people who’ll be participating in London’s annual Pride parade or amongst the crowds lining the streets cheering the parade on because trans visibility at LGBT Pride events is so vital to the trans cause.

The Trans Pride flag being flown at Pride in London

The Stonewall Riots were the most significant event which led to the proliferation of Pride parades celebrating LGBTQ diversity in just about every major westernised city around the globe as part of the modern-day civil rights movement which all trans people living in the western world have benefited from. This of course marks the 50th anniversary since the Stonewall Riots & no matter what transphobic arseholes within the LGBTQ community resentful of trans inclusion might say or what transphobic enemies from outside the LGBTQ community might say in an attempt to either malign or blatantly erase trans involvement in the Stonewall Riots, the fact remains trans women were instrumental in the instigation of the Stonewall Riots, the likes of trans legend Jayne County along with notable trans women such as Marsha P Johnson were very much in the amidst of it all. Trans people have always been part of the LGBTQ civil rights movement from it’s very inception & as far as I’m concerned we should remain very much part of the LGBTQ movement, you don’t have to tell me there is hostility towards trans people coming from within the LGBTQ community, what with the whole #DropTheT bullshit campaign on social-media & that the majority of the most rabid transphobic bigots are lesbians (TERFs), I know from my experience of having sat on the national executive of LGBT Labour that trans concerns are more often than not overlooked by the rest of the LGBTQ community, but the answer isn’t to say fuck it & run away, to do so would achieve nothing as the trans community is simply not strong enough to stand alone, plus I along many trans women are very much very much LGBTQ as any other ‘bonafide’ member of the LGBTQ community as we are lesbians as well as trans women.

Considering the hostility there’s been from some individuals within the LGBTQ community towards trans people, considering a group of bigoted TERFs disrupted last year’s Pride in London parade to push their odious agenda of transphobic hate & the rumour there were Pride in London organisers complicit in helping TERFs disrupt last year’s Pride parade in the capital, I know there might be a substantial number of trans people who’ll be thinking of boycotting this year’s Pride in London, but I’d strongly urge them not to do so as that is exactly what transphobes want. I personally think it’s utter bollocks there were Pride in London organisers complicit in helping TERFs disrupt last year’s event, as a bunch of TERF bigots preaching hate is antithetical to the image peace & love & pride in LGBTQ diversity which Pride in London would want to convey. I actually strongly suspect the rumour about there were Pride in London organisers complicit in helping TERFs disrupt last year’s Pride event was in fact started by transphobes in an attempt to dissuade trans people to come to this year’s Pride event in London or any future Pride event in London, yeah well one should never give into bullies, trans people wouldn’t have accomplished as much as we have since the Stonewall riots in ’69 if we had kotowed to homophobic/transphobic motherfucking bullies & we won’t secure greater justice for ourselves unless we don’t stand steadfast & resolute in being out, loud & proud not only in being trans but in being LGBTQ

There’s more which unites lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender & genderqueer people then divides us, yes I’ve detailed some of the hostility towards trans people which I’ve witnessed from within the LGBTQ community, but let’s be honest this is coming in the main from a minute bigoted minority within a minority & the problem with rabid transphobes within the LGBTQ community is the same problem with all extremists of any stripe which they’ll shout the loudest thus get heard & go to the nth degree to make their point thus get publicity etc, the truth however is that 95% of the LGBTQ community are in fact onside when it comes to supporting trans people & very much of the mentality there’s more which unites us then divides us.

Despite the increase in people coming out as trans & this has obviously helped the growth of the trans community, we are still not a community which is strong enough to stand on its own in campaigning for better civil rights, equality & justice, we still need to align ourselves with the rest of the LGBTQ community, so if trans people aren’t visible at Pride events nor generally visible within LGBTQ community then its far harder to keep people within the LGBTQ community onside in supporting trans equality or combatting what hostility towards trans people there might happen to be. Of course trans women such as India Willoughby being uber conservative truscum fuckwits will always go out of their way to say they’re not part of the LGBTQ community & will frequently be publicly hostile towards the LGBTQ, encouraging hostility & division with the rest of the LGBTQ community really isn’t the way to go when campaigning for greater justice for trans people & greater respect for gender diversity, it’s in fact really fucking unhelpful as encouraging hostility & division with the rest of the LGBTQ community will just be returned in kind & that is certainly not what trans people need! Trans people have always been involved with the LGBTQ civil rights movement from it’s inception, the LGBTQ community are the most natural allies of the trans community & we need all the allies we can get right now, so fuck off India Willoughby & all other truscum bigots just fuck right off!

Fuck off truscum bigots, fuck of TERF bigots, I hope to see trans people & genderqueer people turn out en masse tomorrow at Pride in London showing we won’t be maligned or ignored, I hope to see trans people & genderqueer people turn out en masse tomorrow because being visible & being seen to be visible is one of the greatest strengths in furthering the trans cause.

India Willoughby Proves Herself Yet Again This Time In Response To The 50th Anniversary Of The Stonewall Riots

So this past Friday was the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots the most significant event which lead to the modern day LGBTQ civil rights movement & something which I & every trans woman in the western world has benefited from. I had meant to write an article on the actual anniversary of Stonewall but I was suffering writer’s burnout & was also generally feeling like utter shite this past Friday, however I did manage to post a few tweets giving my thoughts on the significance of Stonewall & how the likes of Kellie Maloney & India Willoughby as trans women have a history of being openly hostile towards the LGBTQ community & thus far from appreciative of the campaign for LGBTQ equality having benefited them, though it’s true to say Kellie Maloney of late has come round to being far more supportive of the LGBTQ community, however same can’t be said of India Willoughby & I received the below tweet from India in response to my tweet about her not appreciating the LGBTQ civil rights movement which the Stonewall Riots inspired.

We don’t need transphobic arseholes within the LGBTQ community & transphobic enemies outside the LGBTQ community attempting to erase the involvement of trans women in the Stonewall Riots when in fact trans women were very much central to the actual instigation of the Stonewall Riots, we have India Willoughby a cuntish truscum bigoted trans woman doing so because she’s ‘dragphobic’ as if that’s a thing or that kind bigoted behaviour should ever be an acceptable form of bigotry. It’s true that not all drag queens identify as trans, but Marsha P did & she wasn’t the only trans woman who was there amidst the Stonewall Riots, there were several including trans legend Jayne County & believe me Jayne County is a trans fucking legend! I highly recommend people check out Jayne County’s autobiography Man Enough to be a Woman because she really has lived a life, as well as being in the middle of the Stonewall Riots, she was involved with Andy Warhol & The Factory artsy scene back in the 1960s & then was involved with CBGBs music scene in the 1970s, it’s the CBGBs scene of the 1970s which has had the greatest cultural impact upon my life as it’s what essentially gave us what we now know as Punk Rock & if you haven’t noticed I’m very much Punk fucking Rock!

I’ve identified as Punk Rock ever since I heard The Ramones in my teens, I identify as Punk Rock just as much now as I did prior to coming out as trans, maybe I was born Punk Rock & so possibly would have just been as much Punk Rock if I’d never heard The Ramones or The Sex Pistols or Nirvana, but what I actually do know is I’m 45 years old & I’ll be Punk Rock as long as I live, what I also know is the likes of India Willoughby racked by insecurities from being caught up in a malaise of middle-class mundanity will never get me & to be honest I really don’t fucking care. Yeah those like India will just say you can’t take me seriously because I’m vulgar & angry, yeah I might let off f bombs & drop the occasional c bomb, but hey real bombs are currently being dropped in Yemen causing a humanitarian disaster, so maybe some people should actually get their fucking priorities in order as to what they get their panties in a bind about. Yes I might be a vulgar crusty Punk but at least I’m not a cunt because I’m not the one who goes about pissing on other trans women because I’m an anally retentive insecure trans woman petrified about not ‘being taken serious’ as a woman & needing to feel better about themselves whereas India fucking Willoughby does so fucking regularly.

You often hear me refer to the likes of India Willoughby & Trump supporting YouTube shitlord Blaire White (who I’m certain is a put up job courtesy of the Koch Brothers) as truscum, an alternative term is ‘true trans’ which essentially means trans women who seem to think they’re the arbiters of what makes or doesn’t make somebody a trans woman, they typically think you’re not ‘true trans’ unless you do as they do to fulfil all the patriarchal stereotypes of how women should be, it’s pretty much if they’ve had to go through the pain & expense to help them to reinforce patriarchal stereotypes of womanhood & patriarchal stereotypes of femininity then every trans woman must do so to be a ‘true’ trans women like them. As well as the snobbish choking on sour grapes that not all trans women have gone through the pain & expense as they have & yet are still considered just as much trans women, there’s also hefty dose of insecurity with truscum about ‘not being taken seriously’ as women because others in the trans community aren’t conforming to how they think trans women should confirm, such as people who identify as non-binary or specifically with India Willoughby the fear of being compared to a drag queen thus the fear she won’t be taken seriously as a woman & this is why she’s ‘dragphobic’. Trans YouTuber Natalie Wynn aka Contrapoints actually produced a brilliant satire about likes of Blaire White & all the truscum/true-trans bullshit which definitely is worth a watch.

Truscum bigots are ostensibly trans bullies who are just as much the same as any other bully, I’m sure many a trans woman including myself would have preferred to have been born as a cis woman, but not all trans women (including myself) are capable for whatever reason to conform to the stereotypes of how society envisages women to be, so having the truscum likes of India Willoughby & Blaire White constantly bitching at those trans women for not conforming to feminine stereotypes is just being fucking nasty, it’s like bullying a wheelchair user for not trying to run the 100m sprint as fast as Usain Bolt & it’s the kind of shit TERFs do to trans women. Trans women get enough bigoted bullshit from TERF motherfuckers without truscum bullying fellow trans women, for fucks sake TERFs & their utter hatred for trans women to the extent of exterminating us all should focus the minds of all trans women has to who the real enemy is, particularly as TERFs with their hatred for trans women are getting into bed with far-right hatemongering headbangers & the far-right are definitely looking to target the LGBTQ community as in just over month we have the homophobic/transphobic bullshit which will be ‘Straight Pride’.
