I’m not the only one within the LGBTQ community to have noticed there’s recently been an upsurge in hostility towards LGBTQ people & it’s pretty obvious from coverage given by the mainstream-news-media that as part of the upsurge of hostility towards LGBTQ people there’s a specific campaign of hate against trans people to have equality on par with the cisnormative majority, all of which has come about as consequence of Donald Trump being in the White House & the war his administration is waging against LGBTQ people in the United States & that war having a particular emphasis on victimising trans people. Homophobic/transphobic bigots this side of the pond feel emboldened by Trump’s war on LGBTQ, some of whom are in fact getting funding from far-right Fundamentalist-Christian & extreme social-conservative groups in the United States to ratchet up the homophobic/transphobic rhetoric amongst the mainstream political discourse in this country & the fear is how much this increase in homophobic/transphobic rhetoric will influence thinking within the ranks of the Tory Party which despite over the past 15 years making strides in being far more LGBTQ friendly still has a sizable homophobic/transphobic element amongst its membership as well as its electoral base.
On the day after the 2019 General Election when the cold
hard reality of Boris & Tories having a whopping parliamentary majority was
setting in for many of us in the LGBTQ community, I saw a trans activist post on
Facebook that the game has changed for LGBTQ folk & now “rather than
fighting for additional rights we’ll be defending what we have”. The signs do
indeed look ominous for the LGBTQ community with regards to there now being a
Tory government with a whopping parliamentary majority, because not only is
there now a glut of homophobic & transphobic bigots on the Tory backbenches
who can cheer on anti LGBTQ wankers at the heart of this rotten Tory government
such as Jacob Rees Toff amongst others I could mention & now without any
sense of irony Boris
Johnson has appointed Caroline Nokes who voted against same-sex marriage as
parliament’s new LGBTQ & equalities
In response to Caroline Nokes being appointed the new LGBTQ
& equalities czar despite having voted against same-sex marriage, a tory
supporting trans woman said to me it might not necessarily be because Nokes is
a homophobic as to why she voted against same-sex marriage, hey I don’t care
what reason whether it be religious or political as to why any MP justified voting
against same-sex marriage, the bottom line with me is fuck you for denying
LGBTQ people the same equality as heteronormative/cisnormative society.
Wake the fuck up Tory trannies! Look hard at the
bigoted fucks you’re current swimming in the same political direction as &
quit it with the cognitive distancing, David T.C Davies Welsh Tory MP has
aligned himself with Woman’s Place UK a known transphobic hate group, Sally-Ann
Hart the Tory MP for Hastings has alleged there’s a Muslim conspiracy to make
people transgender, I could go on about the numerous backbench Tory MPs who are
known to espouse some pretty repulsive transphobic bullshit, but I know Tory supporting
trans women will say that the Labour Party is just as bad & unfortunately
there is some truth in what they say, which is why I welcome leadership
contenders Rebecca Long-Bailey & Lisa Nandy pledging to expel those Labour
Party members who espouse transphobic bullshit.
Meanwhile over on political laughing stock television, the
Tories have proposed moving the House of Lords from London to York, hey fuck it
why not move the House of Lords to Uranus & hold Prime Minister Questions
at the bottom of the ocean particularly as most people are probably of the
opinion having two politicians at the bottom of the ocean would be a perfect
start to there being a better world.
As I heard a Labour MP say there is more chance of a naked Boris Johnson riding Shergar around Yorkminster then there is of the House of Lords moving out of London, yeah it’s an utter bullshit proposal, it’s a non fucking story, but it does give me an opportunity to have a rant about the much needed constitutional & electoral reform this country needs & indulge in some good old fashion Tory bashing.
Why not move somebody with a brain into 10 Downing Street
rather then move the House of Lords out of London to York or where the fuck
ever the Tories are more popular these days then they are in London thinking
this proposal of moving the House of Lords is going to somehow help to
reconnect folk with politics, actually rather then moving the House of Lords
anywhere why not just scrap it because the fact the upper chamber of the UK
parliament is unelected & thus is unaccountable to the electorate is partly
why people feel disconnected from politics etc.
With a stroke of a pen I’d get rid of the House of Lords & replace it with an elected upper chamber, but I’d also have both the House of Commons & the Senate or (what other title would be given to a an upper chamber) elected by proportional representation because far too many people feel their vote is wasted. I live in one of the safest Tory seats in the country, it’s the kind of place if the Tory party put a tub of lard or a dead horse up as a their perspective parliamentary candidate it would win an absolute majority & so me voting Labour or Green Party is an absolutely wasted fucking vote. Why can’t we institute a multi-representative proportional representative system where if any party gets a certain percentage of the vote then they get a candidate elected as a Member of Parliament & so one party would still get more MPs elected for that constituency but those who voted for other parties won’t feel as disconnected or disenfranchised because the party they’ve voted for is likely to have had some MPs elected to represent them in that constituency & overall one party will still likely have an overall majority in parliament.
Considering most people probably do think two politicians at
the bottom of the ocean is a good start, I know it sounds crazy to be proposing
there being more elected representatives, but more elected representatives
means parliament would be more representative of society, yes it would possibly
mean the far-right having a louder voice in parliament but I kind of think that
might force the government to address the root causes as why people vote for
fringe far-right parties.
The Tories proposing to move the House of Lords up north
might be bullshit but what isn’t bullshit is the Tories proposing to reduce the
number of MPs from 650 to 600 thus making the House of Commons less
representative, this has been a Tory proposal since prior to the 2015 General
Election as gerrymandering constituencies in this manner would give the Tories
a vast electoral advantage & now the Tories do have a parliamentary
majority they might very well move ahead with gerrymandering constituency
boundaries to their advantage, as the old political adage goes those in
government will reward friends & punish enemies.
Some have suggested that rather then the Tories moving the
House of Lords to York, they should devolve power to the regions as a means of
reconnecting people with politics, the Tories always talk a good talk about
‘devolving power’ but when in government never seem to do so because they don’t
like it when Labour start sweeping to power in local council & assembly
elections. There was in fact a referendum back in 2004 on a proposed devolved
assembly in the North East of England & that proposal was rejected, so I’m
not sure how popular the idea of devolved assemblies within England are but I
do think the idea of English Parliament on par with the Scottish Parliament
& Welsh & Northern Ireland assemblies is more popular, weirdly it’s
usually the far-right who bitch that if the Scots & Welsh have their own
parliaments then why can’t the English but I think it makes sense for all the
nations which make up the UK to have their own parliaments & then the
Westminster parliament be the federal parliament, so rather then moving the
House of Lords to York you could establish an English parliament in York as a
means of reconnecting people with politics.
It’s been announced that Boris Johnson’s government will be spending £120million on a ‘Festival of Brexit’, yeah because apparently there isn’t anything more worthwhile for this Tory government to be spending £120million on you know stuff like tackling homelessness & child poverty, okay £120million is in fact a drop in the ocean when it comes to government spending however the Tories are always banging on about saving taxpayers money then why not cut cost & just have a ‘Festival of Brexit’ at the local Wetherspoons pub that way the government will save money for taxpayers & travel expenses for racist gammon who’ll most likely attend as they won’t have to go anywhere.
Clive Lewis might have dropped out of the Labour leadership contest, but he was right when saying Brexit was a racist project from the start & we all know any ‘celebration of Brexit’ will just be a bunch of racist gammon getting drunk & abusive about Muslims & immigrants & anybody else they don’t like the look of.
I heard Nigel Farage was planning a big Brexit celebration in London on January 31s which actually surprised me because I thought he would be trying to prolong his political career & the limelight his ego so obviously craves by going about claiming even after the UK officially leaves the EU that Brexit truly hasn’t happened, well I guess he’ll be back at the next General Election with the Adam & Eve Not Adam & Steve’ party wanting to turn England into fucking Gilead now its out of the EU or what the fuck ever other strain of far-right hate he can tap into & exploit for his own ends.
If Farage is going to hold some kind of big Brexit celebration
in Parliament or Trafalgar Square which no doubt will be attended in the main
by racist gammon wanking themselves silly about giving the finger to Johnny
Foreigner & keeping imperial measurements despite them all being clueless
has to how many ounces are in a pound etc, well I’d just fucking love it if
that was the day Extinction Rebellion held yet more protests in London as a
reminder there are more important issues then fucking Brexit or if a load of
militant remainers turned up to gate-crash just to spoil Farage’s Brexit bash
Some of us will definitely not be celebrating Brexit, yeah I
really want to celebrate this country being substantially poorer & stuff in
the shops costs a whole heap more, it will be gammon who’ll be most affected by
the economic consequences of Brexit & so it is pretty fucking extraordinary
gammon celebrating Brexit they’re really celebrating being further economically
Climate-Emergency campaign group Extinction Rebellion has been placed on a counter-terrorist list of ‘extremist ideologies’ alongside the likes of Islamic Jihadists & Neo-Nazis, err? Huh? What the fuck?!?!? I don’t recall any Extinction Rebellion activist having threatened to blow themselves up on the streets of London if we don’t all go immediately carbon neutral nor do I recall any Extinction Rebellion protest ending in a violent fracas. Yes Extinction Rebellion can be fucking annoying & disruptive as fuck with their protests, but hardly a bunch of terrorists me thinks merely a bunch of idealistic hippy teenagers who want a better world & it’s not as if I personally think Extinction Rebellion always hit their mark with their protests. I remember seeing the ruckus when during the last round of Extinction Rebellion protests, when Extinction Rebellion activists climbed on top of a Tube train at Canning Town station which is a predominantly working-class area of London & thus the kind of jobs the vast majority of people will be commuting to in & out of Canning Town will be those lousy low waged jobs people can easily get sack from for not showing up on time, why didn’t Extinction Rebellion hold a demo a few stops westbound on the Jubilee Line at Canary Wharf where those who are in high finance tend to live & work, you know the banksters who are truly fucking up the environment & climate by fucking each over for percentage in exploiting the world’s resources.
But how annoying & disruptive Extinction Rebellion’s
protests happen to be, I think having the government deem Extinction Rebellion
as an ‘extremist ideology’ is in fact extremely dangerous particularly when we
now have a hard-right government who’ll do all they can to crush the political
left in this country, oh & yes I’m not being hyperbolic & emotive when
I say the Martin Niemöller poem First They Came…
does apply to this because next it could very well be the Labour Party being
deemed as an ‘extremist ideology’, in fact we’ve already seen some evidence of
a move towards this with the mainstream news media who are in bed with the Tory
government smearing Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn as a Marxist & an extremist
Despite there being a serious upsurge in far-right terrorism over the past decade in the United States & around the globe, in the United States there have been attempts by GOP politicians to have Antifa categorised as a terrorist group. Antifa isn’t actually any one homogenised group or necessarily a network of groups, it is in fact an ideology & that ideology is antifascist, so essentially GOP politicians want to outlaw the ideology of antifascism which I kind of think is more than a tad alarming, it’s fucking Orwellian! I don’t agree with everything done in the name of antifa, but overall Antifa activists generally get my support as there needs to be visible resistance against fascist bullshit & fascist bully boys, I also know it would be Antifa activists who’d defend me a physically disabled Jewish trans woman from the threat of fascist violence
The bottom line with fascist grievances against Antifa is
that because they’re fascists they seem to think they should solely own the
streets & can’t grasp that in a liberal democracy people have the right to
counter-protest fascist bullshit & defend themselves against fascist
violence. Ironically those who more then often are the ones calling for the Extinction
Rebellion to be banned because they’re disruptive are also the ones who support
the far-right likes of the English Defence League to march through the streets
of whatever town or city no matter if that protest is disruptive with it being free
speech etc & of course they’d likely accuse me of wanting to have the EDL
banned because I’m on the political left when in fact I wouldn’t have any
far-right march banned. I’m indeed politically leftwing but I’m also a strong
civil-libertarian, so the English Defence League or Britain First or the Democratic
Football Lads Alliance or whatever other bunch of drunken racist gammon want to
march wherever that’s fine with me so long as they respect people have a right
to counter-protest & their protest/demo/march doesn’t descend into violence
which has been the major issue with far-right demos & marches, we’ve seen
it when anytime Tommy Robinson gets thrown in prison for being a naughty boy there
are more often than not near on riots involving his legion of racist gammon
I think many will be asking why it is that far-right likes
of the English Defence League & Britain First aren’t proscribed groups
whereas Extinction Rebellion now appears to be, when so often far-right protests
descend into violence & yet Extinction Rebellion have always been about
peaceful protest? In answer look to the United States where the likes of GOP
senator Ted Cruz has been calling for Antifa to be classed as a terrorist group,
is this because the likes of Cruz are aware of the constituency of voters who’ll
more then likely vote for a conservative GOP douchebag that fascist fucks are
more then likely to vote GOP, now look at the kind of Tory government we have
led by Boris Johnson & the support they’re now getting from the far-right
likes of Tommy Robinson & Katie Hopkins who’d gladly fascistically crush
the entire political left.
Tonight sees a new series of the BBC’s topical debate program Question Time no doubt with the customary panel which has a Tory or rightwing bias, I’m sure now there’s a Tory government with a 80 seat parliamentary majority the BBC will use this against any accusations of stacking Question Time panels with gobshites who have a Tory bias blahdy bullshit blah, which has me wondering what the fuck was the BBC’s fucking excuse in having stacked BBC Question panels over the past decade with Tory gobshites considering the number of years we technically had a hung parliament because you tuned in week after week & it was always the same bullshit of having at least Tories beating up on the one Labour panellist.
If isn’t that BBC Question Time nearly always appearing to have a majority of panellists who have a Tory bias, then it’s always nearly the same panellists with a Tory bias. I remember the middle years of the last decade when Question Time practically became Farage Time because Nigel Farage the pompous racist twat was on the Question Time panel nearly other fucking week & if it weren’t Farage the pompous racist twat then it was some other UKIP racist/xenophobic cunt, nothing much has changed as there’s always the likes of Julie Hartley-Tory appearing on Question Time more often then her Tory gobshiteness stature fucking deserves, if not Julie Hartley-Tory or some other Daily Mail columnist then there’s some rightwing wank stain who writes for The Spectator despite the fact only Tory toffs ever read the Spectator, then there’s always the Ayn Rand Libertarian on speed from some rightwing thinktank such as the Institute Of Economic Affairs Tax Dodgers Alliance, oh & remember there’s always a Tory government spokesperson on panel these days most commonly James Cleverly & Grant Shapps which is what I mean by there’s two Tories on a Question Time panel beating up on the sole panellist who’ll be speaking for Labour.
It’s obvious that the producers of BBC Question Time have tried to give the show greater mass appeal by having famous musicians or actors or authors as panellists, but if you ask me the only person to have appeared on the Question Time Panel who’s truly broken the mould in the past decade has been Paris Lees, I know some people might be thinking I’m only bigging up Paris appearing on Question Time because she’s a trans woman & you’d be absolutely correct, Paris was the first bonafide trans woman not to be seen as a fucking joke to have been a Question Time panellist thus could seriously articulate a positive trans perspective which has always been lacking in the mainstream news media & in all her appearances as a panellist on Question the audience has always warmed to her which is great if something of a surprise considering the audience always seem to be something of a mob of Daily Mail readers.
So it’s the last few days, of the last month, of the last year, of this decade without a name, a time when people will reflect upon their favourite films or favourite TV series or favourite videogames of the past decade, Snowpiercer was my favourite film of the decade, my favourite videogame was Cities Skylines, as for my favourite TV series well I hate to be unoriginal as it’s likely the same as anybody else’s which of course is Game Of Thrones, but hey I’m not known for being a pop culture commentator or critic, I’m known as an uber sweary political commentator, so enough with bollocking on about how frigging awesome Snowpiercer & Game Of Thrones were & lets reflect in around about meandering style how dismal this decade has been for anybody who’s politically to the left.
Though my conclusion is it’s been a dismal decade for those of us on the left of politics, for me personally it’s actually been better than an okay decade, the two major highlights for me personally were successfully coming out as trans in 2010 & then meeting the love of my life Alys (aka Kim Justice) in 2017. There have definitely been more positive than negative highlights for me personally this past decade, from giving up smoking in 2011, to finally managing to move into a decent home in 2016, to surviving a heart attack in 2018 (yes surviving a heart attack is a positive), there was also going to the Houses of Parliament for the first time in 2013 to lobby MPs on the issue of trans rights & subsequently doing so several times, then there was finally getting to talk to my trans hero Caroline Cossey though it’s a shame she turned out to be an utter truscum bigoted cunt well they do say don’t they that you should never meet your heroes they’ll only ever disappoint you.
This has certainly been the decade when trans people became far more prevalent in the public eye, yeah this isn’t just the decade where I came out as trans but just about the entirety of the trans community has seemed to have come out from hiding rejoicing in trans being far more about liberation then it being a stigma. Sure as a consequence of trans people having been far more prevalent in the public eye & thus there being far more interest from the mainstream media in trans people, it’s given rise to the cult of the professional tranny celebrity which I don’t think is helpful in the long term for trans people, however I do acknowledge that trans people appearing in the mainstream media has helped push justice & equality for trans people further up the political agenda which is no bad thing. Yes with trans rights becoming far more of a hot topic politically it’s created a transphobic backlash this however was always going to be inevitable as it’s happened previously when the issue of justice & equality have come to the forefront of the political zeitgeist in regards to other sections of society, but when looking back overall at the past decade regards to the plight of trans people I do think its been mostly positive & one of the few things non transphobic progressive lefties can smile about.
For me personally & for me as a trans woman yes this decade has been generally positive, however it’s not as if I didn’t lose people close to me along the way, in particularly I think of my friend Richard Garner who died of a drugs overdose in 2011, after all these years I still find myself in floods of tears thinking about Rick, yes our politics were different he a libertarian-anarchist & me a socialist but we often found common ground politically whether it was opposition to the war in Iraq or legalizing pot, he was also a massive supporter of the LGBTQ community & supported me when I came out as trans when many others round me didn’t, but what I miss most of all about Richard was he was just as Punk Rock as me liking all the same movies & music & definitely having the same fuck you attitude. The death of trans activist Lily Summers in 2016 is another bereavement I find myself getting moist eyes about, me & Lily were on different sides of the Labour Party but a great deal of what she warned about in regards Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the party has come true. I was recently reminded of a photo of me taken in a pub on New Year’s Eve 1999 along with 5 other drinking buddies, 20 years later I’m now the only one still alive, let us just say the deaths of those 5 chums weren’t due to natural causes, I don’t know sometimes I think I suffer from survivors guilt because I do often think how comes I’m still alive despite all the hard liquor I’ve drunk & all the illicit substances I’ve ingested.
This of course was the decade we lost Lemmy, he truly was
the last of the troubadours who didn’t give a fuck, he just lived sex, drugs
& rock ‘n’ roll to the fucking max. Lemmy was the very embodiment of sex,
drugs & rock ‘n’ roll, definitely one of my ultimate rock & roll heroes
& this world is a far duller place without him. Politically this was the
decade we lost Charles Kennedy who I ironically once met in a bar sometime
around 1998, he was a thoroughly decent man & in my opinion the last great
leader of the Liberal Democrats, I remember back in 2003 he took a principled
stance as Lib Dem leader in opposing Tony Blair’s ordering the involvement of
the British military in the illegal invasion of Iraq, no other leader of a
major parliamentary party did so & there were other prominent members of
the Lib Dems such as former party leader Paddy Ashdown (who died last year) who
supported the invasion of Iraq, so it was a brave stance he took & the
right stance he took, he spoke for me & millions of people in opposition to
Blair disgracing this country with the military misadventure in Iraq, Charles
Kennedy might no longer be with us but I still applaud him for the stance he
I remember Lemmy died right at the end of 2015 &
considering what a rock icon he was his death seems to have been a precursor to
2016 the year of the celebrity death what with the passing of David Bowie,
Prince & George Michael etc. When historians look back upon this decade,
2016 will be seen as the pivotal year of this decade & not because it was
the year Alan Rickman & Carrie Fisher died, but because it was the year of
Brexit & Trump.
Back in 2009 I wrote an article for a news site which no
longer exists, in which I essentially predicted the rise of the far-right
during this decade, well both Brexit & Trump were a consequence of the rise
of the far-right with all the hate & intolerance which comes with the
far-right. You telling me that Brexit & Trump weren’t motivated by racism,
Jesus fucking Christ don’t you recall the rhetoric which plumbed the depths of racist
intolerance during both the EU referendum & the Trump presidential
campaign?!?! Actually the truth as to what caused both Brexit & the
election of Trump is the lack of investment by successive governments
(including left of centre governments) in communities which had already
spiralled ever downwards into being shitholes, people being constantly fucked
in being denied any decent opportunity of bettering themselves & in waltzes
the narcissistic egomaniac likes of Donald Trump & Nigel Farage telling the
ill-educated poor & desperate living in those communities that its
immigrants or people merely being different to them who are to blame for them
being constantly fucked!
Brexit & Trump were a product of far-right opportunism, but that opportunism was given to them by the failure of the left, oh it’s definitely not been a good decade for political left that’s both the radical & mainstream left. Wonder whatever happened to the Occupy Movement, oh yeah they went the same way which Extinction Rebellion will be going, as in into historical obscurity having accomplished fuck all, I’m not saying street protests never accomplish anything because the Poll Taxes riots (& yes I was there) of nearly 30yrs ago were the beginning of the end for Margret Thatcher, but ultimately it will always be electoral politics which effects real change & how the mainstream left has failed spectacularly on that score this decade. Labour have lost 4 General Elections in a row this decade, sure the 2010 defeat was deserved as whole Blairite project had run its course & people wanted a change, the 2015 defeat well all Ed Miliband as Labour leader was offering was regurgitated Blairite shite which amounted to Tory lite & people just thought fuck it why not just have full fat Tory, some might want to somehow spin the 2017 defeat as some kind of victory yeah sure Labour did better then any pundit was expecting but it didn’t prevent the Tories in continuing to kill thousands more disabled people did it, as for the 2019 oh fuck we are all still reeling from that one being its one of the worse General Election defeats for Labour despite the Tories having been government for practically a decade.
It seems a lifetime ago when upon that second Saturday in September of 2015, Jeremy Corbyn was elected Labour leader by a landslide & all us redder then red socialists got drunk as fuck thinking here starts the revolution, but here we less than 5yrs later & well the revolution is down the fucking shitter & on the brink of entering the 2020s I’ve never been as scared as I’m right now about my future as a consequence of being a disabled people. It’s disabled people who Labour have ultimately failed, I’m not saying disabled people should from now on never vote Labour again because of course they should continue voting Labour, what I’m saying is that Labour have failed disabled by not winning elections & thus not being in government & so not putting an end to the Tory genocide against disabled people.
The most dismal thing of this dismal decade has been the
scale of the Tory genocide against disabled people, yes I knew when the Tories
were elected to government in 2010 they were going to make disabled people pay
for the reckless behaviour of their banker chums which the decade previous had caused
a global financial crisis. But I never thought it would result in the murder of
a 100,000 plus disabled people nor the architect of the government program
which has resulted in genocidal levels of disabled people being killed would be
receiving a fucking knighthood in the 2020 New Year Honours!
I actually hate writing this kind of ‘year in review’ or
‘decade in review’ type article, not because often end up to be lengthy pieces,
but there’s always stuff you forget to mention no matter how many notes you
make. Dale Farm, the war in Libya, the riots across Britain in the summer of
2011, Chelsea Manning & Julian Assange, all important stuff which hasn’t
gotten mentioned in depth with this review, I guess to sum up this review of
the past decade would be to describe it as the stuff which had the biggest
impact on me or just that I can’t write about everyfuckingthing which has
happened this decade.
Queen drummer Roger Taylor has been awarded an OBE in the 2020
New Year honours, is that for services in supporting the Apartheid regime in
South Africa during the 1980s, yeah the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody kind of
swept under the carpet that the band broke the cultural boycott there was
against the then uber racist Apartheid regime in South Africa when they were paid
a shit ton of cash to play the Sun City resort which was the South African equivalent
to Las Vegas but you know just for White people. I’ll give Roger Taylor some
credit as he has admitted Queen played Sun City during the Apartheid era because
the band were offered a shit loads of cash to do so & he does regret having
done so, but Queen’s guitarist Brian May still to this day defends the band
having done so despite now posing as some born again animal rights lefty who
has said nice things about Jeremy Corbyn, err has somebody pointed out to Brian
that Jeremy was arrested protesting Apartheid whilst he & Roger &
Freddie & the other one happily took the Apartheid regime’s blood money, by
the way along with Jeremy Corbyn a teenage me also campaigned against the utter
racial injustice which was Apartheid. Some people now consider the Apartheid
era in South Africa as ‘ancient history’ & so I’m often asked why I still
bollock on about it, well Apartheid in South Africa was my political awakening,
it’s what turned me into a lifelong political activist, plus it’s not ‘ancient
history’ it still has relevance today just look at the Israeli government’s
treatment of the Palestinian people.
I’d not be surprised if somebody unearths evidence photographic or otherwise that Boris Johnson attended back in the 1980s the Springbok Club which was the Tory pro-Apartheid group along with disgraced former Tory MP Neil Hamilton & Thomas Meir the far-right terrorist who assassinated Labour MP Jo Cox, hey I’d not be surprised if Iain Duncan Smith was also an attendee at far-right pro-Apartheid meetings back in the day.
Ah but of course what’s caught the headlines regards the 2020 New Year honours is the knighthood being awarded to Iain Duncan Smith, though the mainstream media are generally spinning it as former Tory party leader being awarded a knighthood not the man who as DWP secretary has been responsible for murdering tens of thousands of disabled people. Iain Duncan Shit should be in prison for crimes against humanity not be given a knighthood, because yes crimes against humanity, fucking genocide, is what you call you it when you set about murdering over 100,000 disabled people, fuck me if you going to knight an evil Tory cunt like Iain Duncan Shit who’s guilty of fucking genocide why not give fucking knighthoods to Hitler, Stalin & fucking Pol Pot!
I realise Iain Duncan Smith is getting a knighthood for
having managed Boris Johnson’s Tory leadership campaign, but however anybody
tries to spin it it’s still insulting as fuck to disabled people, well hey
2020s might be a different decade but it will still be the same old Tory
genocide against disabled people.
One question I have is if Boris is giving Iain Duncan Smith
a knighthood for helping him be elected Tory leader in the 2020 New Year
honours then why hasn’t Laura Kuenssberg not been made a dame or given some
other bullshit honour as she along the BBC helped Boris in winning GE2019 with a
thumping parliamentary majority? I can’t think of anybody more fitting then Laura
Kuenssberg to get a gong from the palace for services to the Tory Party because
BBC Chief Political Editor nah bollocks she is the BBC Chief Tory propagandist
I ended up spending Christmas with a trans friend who lives
the other side of Surrey, so I actually had a far better Christmas then I was
expecting, in fact it was an intensely restful Christmas I had & thus a thoroughly
lovely Christmas I had, though I could have done without one of friend’s
housemate’s hyperactive dogs one of whom introduced themselves to me by licking
my face at 4am in the morning when I was trying to sleep.
Yep I was fortunate enough to have had a lovely Christmas
with a true friend, vegging out in front of the television watching season 1 of
the X Files (people forget what an awesome series the X Files once was). It might
not sound terribly festive to some watching old episodes of the X Files whilst
scoffing yourself silly on sugary treats, oh for fucks sake it’s a far more a
tradition of a modern British Christmas then fairies on top of Christmas trees
& going the midnight mass to veg out in front of the television half
comatosed from all the food & drink you’ve consumed, oh but of course your
meant to veg out in front of television watching the Queen’s Speech then the Gavin
& Stacey Christmas special. Oh dear I didn’t watch the Queen’s Speech nor did
I watch Gavin Stacey, so what makes me far more unpatriotic not having watched
the Queen’s Speech or the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special?
I’ve not watched a single episode of Gavin & Stacey nor am I planning on ever watching a single episode anytime soon or even in the far off future, though I have spent Christmases in households where I was literally forced to watch the Queen’s Speech on Christmas Day, my grandmother was Jewish so really didn’t do Christmas but if you were round her house come Christmas Day afternoon you had to watch the Queen lecture one & all about how we all should be living our lives. Am I the only one who objects being lectured about how I ought to be living my life by somebody who’s uber fucking wealthy & overprivileged on the count she happened to be born with the correct silver spoon shoved up her muff?
I’d imagine whatever Lizzy lectured the nation about this Christmas was not dissimilar to bullshit she was lecturing the nation about last year, yeah remember last year when we had billionaire Lizzy sitting in front of a gold piano lecturing all about poverty, yeah because Lizzy knows an awful lot about poverty bouncing about in golden horse drawn carriages & living in palaces of splendour, nah I don’t somehow ever expect to see Lizzy skimping for pennies anytime soon, nor do I ever expect to see her come Christmas time handing out food parcels at the local food bank or helping out the local homeless shelter.
Maybe we ought to listen to a Christmas message about
poverty & homelessness from somebody who actually knows something about how
the other half live, you know
somebody like Jeremy Corbyn. Remember how during the recent GE2019 campaign
the Tory press went ape shit in calling Jeremy Corbyn traitorous when it was
revealed he doesn’t watch the Queen’s Speech on Christmas Day afternoon, well
the reason he doesn’t is because he’s been more often than not been busy volunteering
at his local homeless shelter.
This is my final article until after Christmas as even a hardcore political animal such as myself occasionally needs a few days off to kick back & chill, play some videogames & smoke some weed & pig out on all my favourite Christmassy foods, well all that would most definitely make a not-so-bad Christmas for me personally but due to circumstance I’m actually not going to be having much of a Christmas this year, in fact those confided at her majesty’s pleasure will likely be scoffing down a more luxurious Christmas dinner then me, her actual majesty will of course definitely be having a far more luxurious dinner then me.
I see Lizzy & co have been photographed making Christmas
puddings for charity, yeah as if Queen Lizzy was helping to make puddings for
real, if you think this is more than anything then a staged photo op you’ll
fucking believe anything, she’s waited on hand & foot by a legion of
servants, there literally is a position in the royal household dedicated to
wiping the monarch’s arse, it’s official title is Groom Of The Stool. Oh &
what gift has Lizzy gotten members of royal household this Christmas, a
Tesco’s voucher worth a stonking £6, geez how fucking generous of her NOT! Yeah
while Lizzy enjoys a slap up luxurious multiple course Christmas dinner those
serving it up to her will have a gift voucher worth enough for them to buy a
few cans of baked beans & fucking Cornetto for pudding if they’re lucky, oh
yeah wonder if members of the royal household will receive their whopping £6 Tesco’s
gift voucher in one of those Tesco’s
greeting cards which have been manufactured in a Chinese prison camp.
I kind of find it beyond ironic that if anybody on Benefits Street treated themselves to a half decent Christmas dinner there’d be a fucking outcry from the likes of Katie Hopkins & the Daily Mail, yet the very same Tory cunts like the Daily Mail & Katie Hopkins would be bitching if Queen Lizzy & family weren’t served up a luxurious Christmas dinner on a silver fucking platter despite fact the family Windsor are the nation’s biggest welfare spongers.
I might not be having the greatest time of it what with currently
having a seriously fucked up knee & there being ongoing family issues, however
I’m personally thankful to be fortunate enough to have a roof over my head this
Christmas because there are many people in this country who aren’t as fortunate.
Now the Tories have a thumping majority in parliament I suspect there will be
with Christmases to come an ever-increasing number of people who’ll be
penniless & homeless. The Tories truly are the enemies of all that should
be good about the festive season, not just preventing people from getting the
maximum amount of joy from Christmas, they’re literally preventing people
getting any joy from Christmas what-so-fucking-ever, but I’m sure the Tories
will always ensure Queen Lizzy gets her slap up Christmas dinner & the groom
of the stool is employed afterwards to wipe her arse.
I’ve noticed over the past month that my local town centre
hasn’t seemed nearly as Christmassy with decorations etc as it did 15 or 20
years ago, which has me wondering if the supposed ‘war on Christmas’ is only a
thing which the likes of the Daily Mail & far-right trolls rant about when
there’s a liberally minded Labour government & not when there’s a
hard-right Tory government? Labour were in government 15 or so years ago &
my town centre along with no doubt many town centres were far more festively
decorative then they have been over the past couple of years, I remember back
then the local shopping mall would be decked out in holly & tinsel & fairy
lights & whatever other Christmassy decorations come the day after Halloween,
yet the Daily Mail & other Tory entities would endlessly bitch about there
being a supposed ‘war on Christmas’ something of which I’ve not heard nearly as
much about in recent years when the Tories have been in government.
There have been complaints about the Christmas tree in the centre of Trafalgar Square looking a bit ‘sparse’ & ‘anaemic’ regards its foliage, including from the vilest of vile hatemongering gobshite trolls Katie Hopkins who used ‘Britain’s most famous Christmas tree’ not looking the healthiest of Christmas trees which the Norwegians have sent us, to have an Islamophobic swipe at London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Of course Katie Hopkins will have you believe the reason why local councils haven’t gone as full hog as maybe they use to in regards to Christmassy decorations in towns centres & whatever else is because of the ‘Islamification’ of Britain, when in fact the real reason is due to Tory austerity meaning local councils being short of funds etc.
I bet in response to me writing all this I’ll have some
gammon who thinks they’re a smartarse asking why the fuck should I care about
Christmas decorations because aren’t I supposed to be Jewish, well I guess it’s
unlikely any gammon would have heard the joke about the rabbi & the
Hanukkah bush. As its goes I’m not an observant Jew, in fact I’m an atheist,
this always confuses the fuck out of gammon not understanding that what
qualifies you as a Jew isn’t eating kosher & regularly attending your local
synagogue, but simply if your mother was a Jew then you are a Jew & it just
so happens my mother was Jewish. Even if I was an observant Jew what’s wrong
with liking Christmas décor, anyways what religious significance is there with
the contemporary Christmas the vast majority of people celebrate? Saw no
mention of trees decorated with tinsel & baubles & fairy lights in any
bible verse I’ve ever read nor any mention of roast turkey & plum pudding, nor
any mention that it was to be traditional to veg out half comatose on the
living room sofa come 4pm on Christmas Day due over consumption, yeah you
really seriously going to tell me Christmas has any religious significance to
Christmas obviously does have significance for practicing
Christians, who some of the more devout will whinge no matter what about there
being a ‘war on Christmas’ which is code for them not being able to impose how
they reckon people ought to be celebrating Christmas on all others. Far-right Tommy
Robinson supporting gammon & Christian fundamentalists always love to claim
this country is Christian nation & this is the only time Christmas does
have any religious significance for gammon as it’s a means to be bigoted fucks
towards Muslims, yeah well I got news for gammon that its Paganism which is the
indigenous religion of the British Isles not Christianity & in fact much of
what we now associate with Christmas comes from it originally being the Pagan
festival of Yule.
Though the Tory press might not bleat on as much as about
there being a ‘war on Christmas’ as they once did when there was a Labour
government, ironically it’s due to the economic policies of the current Tory
government which is preventing many people from enjoying Christmas in the manner
they’d want to, it’s the Tories who are preventing people from getting a great
deal enjoyment from Christmas, it’s in fact the Tories who are the enemy of
Christmas not Labour.
