The Board Of Deputies & The Labour Leadership Election

Comedian & Actor Sacha Baron Cohen recently gave a speech at an Anti-Defamation League event in which he accused social-media firms such as Facebook & YouTube & Twitter of helping to amplify antisemitic hate, I happen to agree with every point made by Sacha Baron Cohen in the speech he gave at the Anti-Defamation League’s recent Never Is Now Summit, as this Jew has certainly witnessed for themselves a deluge of antisemitic hate via social-media & this includes having frequently seen antisemitic posts on Facebook groups orientated towards supporting Labour & Jeremy Corbyn.

I’ve always argued that those posting antisemitic shite on Facebook groups in support of Labour & Jeremy Corbyn might not necessarily be paid up members of the Labour Party & might in fact be trolls wanting to do damage to the Labour Party, of course the argument then follows about it being the responsibility of the admin of those groups supposedly set up in support of the Labour Party & Jeremy Corbyn to delete posts which are antisemitic & to ban whoever is posting antisemitic shite from those groups, but again nobody can be certain if those groups created on Facebook genuinely have the intent in being supportive of Labour & Jeremy Corbyn, one presumes the genuine intention of those groups being created is to support Labour & Jeremy Corbyn is to give support to Jeremy Corbyn & Labour, but the internet affords bigots & trolls a great deal of anonymity & there are many nefarious people in this world who have nefarious agendas & come up with ever inventive ways to push those nefarious agendas.

I’m not getting all Moulder & Scully or all Alex Jones, I’m not suggesting that Mossad are running some clandestine troll farm south of Jerusalem with the specific mission to smear the fuck out of Jeremy Corbyn & Labour as antisemitic on Twitter or Facebook, what I’m saying is never take anything at face value. It’s more then likely that those groups created on Facebook in support of Labour & Jeremy Corbyn probably were created with the genuine intention to support Labour & Jeremy Corbyn & the vast majority of Facebook users posting on those groups are either Labour Party members or at the very least are supporters of the Labour Party, which means the general response being posted on various Facebook groups about all the candidates who are contesting the current Labour leadership election to take over from Jeremy Corbyn signing up to the 10 pledges put forward by the British Board of Deputies to stamp out antisemitism within the party has made for some uncomfortable reading even for this Jew who has their own serious contentions with some of what the British Board of Deputies are asking of Labour.

Overall I don’t think what the British Board of Deputies are asking Labour to implement is too much of the party as a means of restoring confidence amongst Jewish people that Labour is tackling antisemitism within the party, because though I’ve fiercely defended Jeremy Corbyn against accusations that he himself is antisemitic I’ve never denied there isn’t an issue with antisemitism within the Labour Party & I’ll admit so far the Labour leadership hasn’t done nearly enough to tackle the issue of antisemitism within the party. But I do have some serious contentions in regards to #6 & number #8 on the list of pledges the British Board of Deputies has asked the Labour Party to sign up to as means of proving its serious about stamping out antisemitism.

Pledge #8 To engage with the Jewish community via its main representative groups & not through fringe organisations

For those who might not know there are currently two groups representing Jewish opinion within Labour, the Jewish Labour Movement which is pro Zionist which has links to the current Israeli government & Jewish Voice For Labour which is anti Zionist & opposes the current Israeli government, the Jewish Labour Movement have opposed Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the Labour Party by going as far as to publicly refusing to campaign for Labour during the 2019 General Election whereas Jewish Voice For Labour are a breakaway group from the Jewish Labour Movement of those Jews who do support Jeremy Corbyn. It’s obvious to me when Board of Deputies state that Labour must engage with the Jewish community via its main representative groups & not through fringe organisations this is aimed at the likes of Jewish Voice For Labour, err who the fuck are the British Board of Deputies to say which Jewish group is fringe or mainstream, which Jewish opinion is legitimate & which Jewish opinion is illegitimate, there’s no one homogenised opinion amongst us Jews we are an argumentative bunch who’ve been arguing & arguing amongst ourselves for millennia & in my opinion that’s no bad thing.

Pledge #6 full adoption of the IHRA definition of antisemitism with all its examples & clauses and without any caveats

The definition of antisemitism should simply be hatred of Jews for being Jews, so accusing the Israeli government of being murdering scumbags isn’t antisemitic but accusing the Jewish people collectively of being murdering scumbags is most certainly antisemitic. The serious contention I personally have with the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of Antisemitism is that in around about way it’s classing criticism of the state of Israel to be antisemitic which indeed it is as Israel is the Jewish state but most people use government & state as interchangeable terms to mean the same thing as not everybody is a political scientist or a smartarse like myself who understands the differences in the legal definitions between state & government, so somebody could be criticising the state of Israel when they mean the Israeli government & be unfairly condemned as being antisemitic no matter how legitimate their criticism might have been. There is a fear with the adoption of the IHRA definition of antisemitism smacks of wanting to circumvent or curtail any criticism of controversial policies being enacted by the current Israeli government in particular the orchestration of an Apartheid system victimising the Palestinian people, we must by all necessary means protect the fundamental democratic right of all peoples to challenge those who govern over us because if we lose that right then we well on truly on the slippery slope towards fascism.

The general consensus of disquiet amongst Labour activists in response to all candidates contesting the current Labour leadership election signing up to the British Board of Deputies 10 pledges to stamp out antisemitism within Labour has been “they’ve all sold out to Zionism”. There have been accusations in the past that the British Board of Deputies was too pro-Israeli & to which my response is yes & so what, okay if the British Board of Deputies are being overtly supportive of the Israeli government & that government instituting overtly racist policies then that’s something I’d be extremely critical of them doing, but one can have love for a country but at the same time not necessarily have love for the government of that country. I’ve never had any issue with the legitimacy of the state of Israel, my issue has always been purely about the racist policies towards the Palestinian people being pursued by Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud government, but from what I’ve recently seen being posted by a myriad of Labour activists & leftwing activist has made me begin to wonder if those critics who say antisemitism is rife within the party aren’t right an example being substituting the word Jew with the word Zionist & disputing the legitimacy of the right of the Israeli state to exist.

When I talk of being anti Zionist I’m talking about contemporary Zionism, Benjamin Netanyahu’s brand of Zionism which is decidedly fascistic in nature, rampant nationalism, obsession with national security, supremacy of the military, distain for human rights, scapegoating ethnic minorities for the problems of the nation state, religion & government intertwined, etc. I’m not opposed to the original intention of Zionism (in fact I’m very much such supportive of it) which was for there to be a Jewish homeland & the Holocaust precipitating the need for the establishment of the state of Israel, but I’m well aware there are Labour & leftwing activists who indeed dispute the legitimacy of the state of Israel & thinking if anybody who makes the most moderate of defences of the legitimacy of the state of Israel to exist has their tongue well & truly shoved up the arse of Benjamin Netanyahu.

I know full well there are Labour & leftwing activists who have labelled the British Board of Deputies as ‘Zionist’ not because that organisation is pro-Israeli but merely because it’s a Jewish organisation, I think whoever is eventually elected Labour leader in early April has an uphill struggle in combatting antisemitism within the party. Considering all that’s happened over the past few years, it was inevitable those candidates contesting the Labour leadership election were going sign up to the Board of Deputies 10 pledges without question & I think whoever does replace Jeremy Corbyn as party leader might very be making a Kinnock like speech to conference in regards to antisemites within the party, yes you remember that speech, it’s the one speech everybody remembers Kinnock making as Labour leader, the speech about Militant tendency at the ’85 Labour Party annual conference. Whoever takes over from Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader needs far more forceful then he has been in stamping out antisemitism within the party, because unless they’re seen to be doing so then Labour will not return to government.

…And Now We Proceed To The Second Round Of the 2020 Labour Leadership Election Will We See Some Skin On The Bone

And now we proceed to the second round of nominating candidates in the 2020 Labour leadership election with Clive Lewis having withdrawn his candidacy an hour before the deadline in the first round of nominating leadership candidates expired & Emily Thornberry having managed to secure enough nominations amongst her colleagues in the Parliamentary Labour Party for her to continue with her campaign to be leader.

Just because Keir Starmer secured over double the number of nominations from Labour MPs then his nearest Labour leadership rival Rebecca Long-Bailey, don’t be fooled to think he’s odds on to be announced as Labour leader come April 4th, both in 2010 & 2015 Labour leadership contests the candidate with the largest number of nominations from Labour MPs didn’t eventually get elected as party leader, in fact in 2015 Jeremy Corbyn with barely minutes to spare managed to secure just enough nominations from Labour MPs, but it was in the second round of nominations from Constituency Labour Parties & affiliated trade unions & socialist societies where Jeremy absolutely trounced the other leadership candidates. Yes Keir Starmer has already secured the endorsement of UNISON, but you’d think that the other big union UNITE (which happens to be the union that has me as a paid up member) would be throwing its weight behind Rebecca Long-Baily considering she’s seen as the continuity Corbynism candidate & considering the support Corbyn has had from UNITE’s General Secretary Len McCluskey as well as the average rhetoric of McCluskey’s speeches, but there’s a rumour circulating that McCluskey might have UNITE back Lisa Nandy, now I don’t know if this isn’t just a rumour being put about by the mainstream news media as a means of shit stirring but if it were true I do think it would be bad (then some) for Rebecca Long-Baily’s leadership bid.

Whilst rumours circulate about whether Len McCluskey might have UNITE endorse Lisa Nandy rather then Rebecca Long-Bailey, Lisa Nandy herself has made a speech which has caught some media attention because in that speech she said “If we do not change course we will die & we will deserve to”, yeah okay but what the fuck does that really mean?!?! We all fucking know Labour has to change direction, but we need some fucking details from each candidate as to what direction they think Labour needs to take to be relevant & get back into government, we need skin on the bone not vague broad strokes. Keir Starmer has said he wants Labour to be as radical in opposing austerity as it has been with Jeremy Corbyn as leader though I kind of think there was some playing to the gallery in the speech he gave in which he said this & from the response of Labour members I’ve seen they’ve seriously not bought into believing what Starmer has said, Jess Phillips has said something about free universal childcare & possibly supporting a Green New Deal, but its generally the same gobshiteness with Jess Phillips as ever, yack, yack, yack, yack, bullshit yack. It’s because Jess Phillips has been all yack, yack, yack, be bitchy about Jeremy Corbyn to get attention, yack, which is why I think she’ll get zero endorsements from any trade unions & I’d be very surprised if she’ll get the required 5% of CLPs endorsing her to get onto the final ballot.

Emily Thornberry now seems to be plagiarising Jess Phillips’s ‘rubbish Corbyn & Corbynism’ act which is why I don’t think she’ll get fuck all endorsements in the second round of nominations, because though there might be a great deal of hostility in the country towards Jeremy Corbyn there’s still an awful lot of love for Jez within the party, but at least from what I know Thornberry unlike Jess Phillips isn’t trying to sign up her mates to sway the outcome of this leadership election. Remember back in 2015 the Blairite right of the party were having screaming abdabs about people signing up in their droves to support Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership, remember how there was a Panorama documentary about it all being nefarious etc, yeah well Jess Phillips is now doing no different in trying to get people to sign up as Labour members or supporters so they can vote for her, now there’s nothing against the party rules in her doing so but this is gross fucking hypocrisy because as her support is coming from the Blairite right of the party who objected 5 years ago to us Corbynistas having done so, despite the fact it was Blairite right who brought in the rules on membership & voting in party elections.

Rant #1 About BBC Question Time

Tonight sees a new series of the BBC’s topical debate program Question Time no doubt with the customary panel which has a Tory or rightwing bias, I’m sure now there’s a Tory government with a 80 seat parliamentary majority the BBC will use this against any accusations of stacking Question Time panels with gobshites who have a Tory bias blahdy bullshit blah, which has me wondering what the fuck was the BBC’s fucking excuse in having stacked BBC Question panels over the past decade with Tory gobshites considering the number of years we technically had a hung parliament because you tuned in week after week & it was always the same bullshit of having at least Tories beating up on the one Labour panellist.

If isn’t that BBC Question Time nearly always appearing to have a majority of panellists who have a Tory bias, then it’s always nearly the same panellists with a Tory bias. I remember the middle years of the last decade when Question Time practically became Farage Time because Nigel Farage the pompous racist twat was on the Question Time panel nearly other fucking week & if it weren’t Farage the pompous racist twat then it was some other UKIP racist/xenophobic cunt, nothing much has changed as there’s always the likes of Julie Hartley-Tory appearing on Question Time more often then her Tory gobshiteness stature fucking deserves, if not Julie Hartley-Tory or some other Daily Mail columnist then there’s some rightwing wank stain who writes for The Spectator despite the fact only Tory toffs ever read the Spectator, then there’s always the Ayn Rand Libertarian on speed from some rightwing thinktank such as the Institute Of Economic Affairs Tax Dodgers Alliance, oh & remember there’s always a Tory government spokesperson on panel these days most commonly James Cleverly & Grant Shapps which is what I mean by there’s two Tories on a Question Time panel beating up on the sole panellist who’ll be speaking for Labour.

Paris Lees on BBC Question Time

It’s obvious that the producers of BBC Question Time have tried to give the show greater mass appeal by having famous musicians or actors or authors as panellists, but if you ask me the only person to have appeared on the Question Time Panel who’s truly broken the mould in the past decade has been Paris Lees, I know some people might be thinking I’m only bigging up Paris appearing on Question Time because she’s a trans woman & you’d be absolutely correct, Paris was the first bonafide trans woman not to be seen as a fucking joke to have been a Question Time panellist thus could seriously articulate a positive trans perspective which has always been lacking in the mainstream news media & in all her appearances as a panellist on Question the audience has always warmed to her which is great if something of a surprise considering the audience always seem to be something of a mob of Daily Mail readers.

The issue with the Question Time audience isn’t just week after week having it made up of rent Daily Mail readers no matter where any edition of BBC Question Time is being held, it’s the audience is packed with Tory Party plants & I’m not only talking about talking about Tory boy from the edition of Question Time held in Brighton during the GE2019 campaign or from a while back the young Tory girl who for some reason reminded me of Daenerys Targaryen, I’m talking about audience members who are paid up Tory councillors & some who have been in the Question Time audience on multiple occasions & gotten to ask the panel questions on those multiple times they’ve been an audience participant, err you’d have thought the BBC Question Time production team might have employed researchers to prevent this kind of bullshit, oh who the fuck am I kidding this is the Tory biased BBC.

Rebecca Long-Bailey Joins The Labour Leadership Race & Jess Phillips Wants Labour To Become The Rejoin EU Party & Why Is Nobody Holding Keir Starmer To Account For Labour’s GE2019 Defeat

Since the last time I wrote about the Labour leadership election, Rebecca Long-Bailey has finally announced her candidacy, Jess Phillips has been waffling on about turning Labour into the ‘rejoin the EU party’ & still nobody is holding Keir Starmer to account for Labour’s GE2019 defeat.

Rebecca Long-Bailey with Jeremy Corbyn

If Rebecca Long-Bailey gets the requisite nominations from Labour MPs to stand in the leadership election (& I can’t imagine why she wouldn’t) then she gets my endorsement & vote. I know I had written last week that I hadn’t made up which candidate I was going to endorse, but as if there was truly any doubt I wasn’t eventually going to endorse Rebecca Long-Bailey, because yeah I’m really going to endorse Keir the posh bloke from London who’s a millionaire, oh & sure it’s really going to be in my best interests as a trans woman to endorse Jess the Brommie gobshite who has a record of supporting transphobia or Clive who’s politics might be lefty left & might be a jolly lovely nice guy but nice guys don’t necessarily make great party leaders, of course it was always going to be Rebecca Long-Bailey who I was going to endorse being she’s the continuity Corbynism candidate & there’s plenty to the Corbynism brand of socialism which has mass appeal it’s just that Labour needs somebody to present it who doesn’t have the baggage of past associations which plagued Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the party.

Jess Phillips on the BBC Andrew Marr Show

Obviously some disagree with keeping the party to the left with the Corbynism brand of socialism & are urging whoever is elected Labour leader to replace Jeremy Corbyn to move the party to the ‘centre ground of politics’ as if anybody truly knows what that frigging means these days, well for my part I strongly suggest Labour don’t do what Jess Phillips seems to have suggested when appearing on this past weekend’s edition of the BBC Andrew Marr Show by becoming the ‘rejoin the EU party’, because offering a second EU referendum & thus becoming tagged as ‘a remain party’ during GE2019 campaign really worked out well for Labour didn’t it NOT! Let the Liberal Democrats be the ‘the rejoin the EU party’ & as a consequence electorally flounder, time for Labour to realise we lost the argument on Brexit & move the fuck on!

Sure there’s plenty of tweets of mine which you’ll find advocating for a second referendum, in fact I appeared on BBC News at an anti-Brexit demo saying as much, but in hindsight I realise it was a mistake (then some) to have talked myself into having supported a second EU referendum, I should have kept to the position of respecting the Brexit outcome of 2016’s EU referendum & Jeremy Corbyn as well as the entire Labour leadership should have done the same, yes I might make fun of gammon being all Smeagol like in wanting their Brexit precious Brexit but that’s why in places such as Darlington & Workington people voted Tory at last year’s General Election to get Brexit done & unless Labour learn to respect people up north want Brexit they’re never going reconnect with what have traditionally been the Labour heartlands.

Keir Starmer

Though it’s ultimately Jeremy Corbyn who should be held responsible for having adopted Labour’s nonsensical policy on Brexit which was the nonsensical bullshit that if Labour had been elected to government they’d have renegotiated a Brexit Deal with the EU but then would have advised people to vote against it in a referendum, it was Keir Starmer who was as shadow Brexit Secretary as well as an out & out Blairite who was the architect of this nonsensical bullshit. Originally both Jeremy Corbyn & John McDonnell had said they respected the Brexit outcome of 2016’s EU referendum this was however then reversed this when the Blairite contingent led by the likes of Keir Starmer whipped up dissent amongst the membership & urged Labour to come forthrightly out in support for a second referendum & kind of got their way on that one but look at the electoral disaster which it’s caused Labour.

During the leadership hustings I hope somebody will hold Starmer to account for having supported a second referendum which was a slap in the face of democracy & as a consequence millions of voters punished Labour for.

A Bonafide TERF Has Entered The Labour Leadership Election But Where Is Rebecca Long-Bailey?

Author’s note: Since I wrote this article it’s transpired I was inaccurate in accusing Jess Philips of being a TERF please read this follow up article

Honor Cohen is former Co-Chair of LGBT Labour & like myself she’s both LGBTQ & Jewish, but unlike myself she’s one of those Blairite Jews who’s spent the past 5yrs bitching about Jeremy Corbyn being an antisemitic bigot despite Jeremy Corbyn having never endorsed any antisemitic group advocating hatred of Jews for being Jews, yet she’s now supporting Jess Phillips to takeover from Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader despite it being pointed by the likes of me that Jess has been endorsing WPUK a transphobic hate group encouraging hatred of trans women for simply being trans women. Honor Cohen & her Blairite chums refuse to acknowledge WPUK are a transphobic hate group who seek to eradicate all trans people from the surface of the earth, in fact they thought WPUK had legitimate arguments & grievances concerning trans women, rrrright so by that same logic would it then be legitimate for antisemitic bigots to want to debate whether Hitler had a point about hating & wanting to kill us Jews, oh weird ain’t it how people can have a blind spot when the shoe is on the other foot, actually what Honor & her Blairite chums prove is they don’t give a shit about intolerance, bigotry & intolerance when its all about them winning that’s at stake.

So indeed Jess Phillips has now officially entered the Labour leadership race & so has Lisa Nandy & Keir Starmer, joining Clive Lewis & Emily Thornberry who declared their candidacies to stand for Labour leader prior to the new year. It appears Jess Phillips for once wasn’t just being a fucking publicity whore in yanking everybody’s chain to grab headlines but not actually following through with the shit she has said, which has been far too often a tactic Jess has pulled, now hopefully we’ll get to see her given far more scrutiny & put far more on the spot, I’ve already seen a Channel 4 News interview where she was asked about the shit she said about knifing Jeremy Corbyn (a very poor choice of words considering the murder of Labour MP Jo Cox), maybe in the leadership hustings somebody will ask Jess about the £20k she’s received from the Murdoch’s media empire of evilness, hey maybe Jess will get endorsed & funding from JK Rowling considering they’re both TERFs.

Considering Jess has been in the pay of the Murdoch’s empire of evilness & that Blairite scum seem to be flocking to support her, maybe she’s far more the establishment’s choice for Labour leader over Keir Starmer, despite Keir having a shit ton to him proving he’s an out & out Blairite. But I have a question now there appears to be a rush of Labour MPs entering the Labour leadership contest & that’s where the fuck is Rebecca Long-Bailey?

Ian Lavery & Rebecca Long-Bailey

Rumour is Ian Lavery & Rebecca Long-Bailey are squabbling which of them should be the candidate of the left as Jeremy Corbyn was back in 2015. Oh you can’t fucking be serious with Ian Lavery, fuck me if he ever became Labour leader then the party might as well kiss its very exitance goodbye, he doesn’t have the revolutionary zeal appeal which Jeremy Corbyn had rather he comes over as some bloody-minded stuck in the mud out of his time northern bloke who’d be far happier if he was time warped back to the fucking 1950s.

Will the left get behind Rebecca Long-Bailey already because she is seriously the only one who appears interested in being Labour leader who could return the party to government & ensure Labour doesn’t suffer yet another lost decade. I really don’t fancy Labour resorting to be all soulless & hollow mounting to being Tory light, well that’s what will happen if Blairites retake control of the party & its obvious they’re already pulling out the stops to do so.

Keir Starmer Suspiciously Takes An Early Leader in the Labour Leadership Election & The Mainstream News Media Have Begun Smearing Rebecca Long-Bailey, Oh & When Will Jess Phillips Either Piss Or Get Off The Potty

Keir Starmer appears to have taken an early lead over Rebecca Long-Bailey in the Labour leadership election if a YouGov poll published yesterday in the mainstream news media is to be believed, yeah if you actually believe a poll conducted by a market research company which was co-founded by Nadhim Zahawi who’s now a Tory MP & a member of Boris Johnson’s cabinet which was published in the mainstream news media who since the moment Labour lost the GE2019 have been touting Starmer as the favourite to take over from Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader. I find the YouGov poll suggesting Starmer to be the frontrunner in the Labour leadership election somewhat fishy (then some!), supposedly a 1,000 Labour members were surveyed by YouGov yeah likely a 1,000 Labour members who’ve affiliations with Progress & Open Labour or some other Blairite groupings within Labour who have spent the best part of the last 5yrs undermining the Labour leadership. Yes Starmer has said he wants to build upon the socialist platform put forward by Jeremy Corbyn (continuity Corbynism) & has been making speeches about how Labour were right to have taken a radical approach to tackling austerity, but he’s merely attempting to play to the gallery, attempting to fool a Labour Party membership which is generally now on the left of the left when we all know he’s an out & out Blairite.

Keir Starmer

Keir Starmer hasn’t as yet officially announced his candidacy to stand in the Labour leadership election & nor has Rebecca Long-Bailey who’s the favoured continuity Corbynism candidate, but despite Rebecca Long-Bailey not having officially entered the Labour leadership election this hasn’t stopped the mainstream news media from launching a smear campaign against her because she is the continuity Corbynism candidate. Apparently the guy Rebecca Long-Bailey has enlisted to coordinate her campaign to be elected as Labour leader is a self-proclaimed Stalinist & Rebecca has said she would want to rule Labour with an Iron Fist, well at least we now know what Rebecca’s walk on music will be if she is elected Labour leader cue Lemmy & the boys.

Rebecca Long-Bailey

So far Emily Thornberry & Clive Lewis are the only two Labour MPs who’ve actually officially announced the their candidacy to stand in the Labour leadership election, Emily Thornberry has a history of making gaffes & well after all that’s happened over the past 5 years I just think I’m sure Emily has a good heart etc but no her being Labour leader, Clive Lewis seems to be a genuinely nice guy who’s on the left of the party but I don’t necessarily think nice guys always make great leaders.

Clive Lewis & Emily Thornberry

I did hear a Labour backbench MP say yesterday that no member of Corbyn’s frontbench team should be standing in the Labour leadership election as the entire shadow cabinet are collectively guilty for one of Labour’s worse ever General Election defeat which GE2019 definitely was, but if this is any kind of endorsement between the lines of Jess Phillips then please fuck off. Jess Phillips is another Labour MP who its rumoured to be thinking of entering the Labour leadership contest, sure she’s been dropping hints she might but this is what Jess archetypically does, she’s a publicity whore who yanks people’s chains to grab headlines but never follows through. All solidarity with Jess when it comes to all the shit she was subjected to by Carl from Swindon, aka Carl Benjamin, aka weirdo rapey tweet man, no female MP in fact no woman should ever be subjected to the rapey bullshit that fat slobby fuck subjected Jess Phillips to & why the fuck isn’t he in prison for it I don’t know, but my problem with Jess Phillips isn’t just she’s a self-serving attention seeking publicity whore, it’s also that she has endorsed WPUK a known transphobic hate group, yeah Jess is a TERF.

Jess Phillips

As yet I’m not sure as who I’ll back to be Labour leader, I had wanted Angela Rayner to stand to be the next Labour leader but it appears she’s made a pact with Rebecca Long-Bailey & will now only be standing for Deputy Labour leader the position Tom Watson vacated to take up a career as a gym instructor. One thing I’m clear about already clear in my mind about in regards to the Labour leadership election is that if Jess Philips does enter the contest & has any sniff of being elected leader or as consequence of a good showing in the leadership contest is rewarded with a position in the shadow cabinet, I will withdraw my support for Labour considering Philips is a TERF & for fucks sake there should not be any countenance of transphobia within Labour a party which purports to be the party of equality & social justice.

#OhJeremyCorbyn

I saw earlier today #OhJeremyCorbyn was trending on Twitter, I think this might have been in reaction to the chant of ‘Oh Jeremy Corbyn’ having been distinctly audible amongst the crowds watching the 2020 New Year fireworks display in London last night, bit fucking late isn’t it to be chanting ‘oh Jeremy Corbyn’, people had an opportunity to radically change this country by electing Jeremy Corbyn to be Prime Minister but turned their nose up at seizing that opportunity, hmm wonder if some people might now be suffering from a severe case of buyer’s remorse from having voted Tory.

Over the past week we’ve witnessed two antisemitic attacks, a knife attack in New York where at least 5 people attending Hanukkah celebrations at those of a rabbi were stabbed & in London where Jewish businesses as well as synagogue were targeted with antisemitic graffiti, despite this obviously being a consequence of the rise of far-right hate particularly going by some the antisemitic shite the suspect in New York knife attack is supposedly meant have blurted on social media & elsewhere, I’m still surprised the likes of Rachel Riley & the Israel Advocacy Movement & other Zionist trolls haven’t tried to blame Jeremy Corbyn for this, fuck it why not blame Jeremy Corbyn for the antisemitic attacks in London & New York as they’ve helped to smear Jeremy with everything else over the past few years which has had a hint of being motivated by antisemitism, oh no need for them to do so as the election is over & Jeremy lost.

The government’s ‘antisemitism czar’ John Mann has announced he’s going to launch some kind of hate probe into The Canary & other ‘far-left’ websites, rrrright you mean websites which campaign against racism including the racist policies of the Israeli government against the Palestinian people, hey John if you want probe anybody about antisemitism why aren’t you probing Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson our current Prime Minister who has a history of spouting antisemitic garbage. I think Boris bollocking on about Jews controlling the banks & the media & fiddling elections is more then a tad antisemitic, this is the kind of antisemitic conspiracy theory bullshit ripped straight from the pages of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, an infamous antisemitic diatribe written 120 odd years which I know John Mann like myself is familiar with particularly as it notoriously inspired the likes of Hitler.

I’m surprised Zionists haven’t tried to twist it that it’s in fact Jeremy Corbyn not Adolf Hitler who’s to blame for the Holocaust, hey why the fuck not as Zionist trolls have been trying to distort & twist everything Jeremy Corbyn has said & done to make out he’s an uber antisemitic bigot when he’s nothing of the sort, so yeah why not attempt to rewrite history & associate him with every egregious crime committed against us Jews.

Oh you think I’m being ridiculous & offensive, I’ll tell you what I think is fucking offensive it’s having a honourable & decent man continuously smeared as an antisemite by the mainstream news media & Zionist trolls when he has spent a lifetime campaigning against racism & hate, what I find fucking offensive is Jeremy Corbyn & Labour weren’t elected to government largely due to that smear campaign & now a hard-right Tory government having been elected means tens of thousands more disabled people will now be murdered possibly including myself so fuck you! Of course Jews being stabbed is unacceptable, of course Jewish businesses & synagogues being attacked is unacceptable, because any kind violence & vandalism which is motivated by racism is fucking unacceptable & the authorities should come down on the culprits like a shit ton of bricks, but smearing a decent & honourable man who could have saved thousands of lives is also fucking unacceptable!

What A Fucking Dismal Decade For Those Of Us On The Political Left

So it’s the last few days, of the last month, of the last year, of this decade without a name, a time when people will reflect upon their favourite films or favourite TV series or favourite videogames of the past decade, Snowpiercer was my favourite film of the decade, my favourite videogame was Cities Skylines, as for my favourite TV series well I hate to be unoriginal as it’s likely the same as anybody else’s which of course is Game Of Thrones, but hey I’m not known for being a pop culture commentator or critic, I’m known as an uber sweary political commentator, so enough with bollocking on about how frigging awesome Snowpiercer & Game Of Thrones were & lets reflect in around about meandering style how dismal this decade has been for anybody who’s politically to the left.

Your truly with Alys the love of my life

Though my conclusion is it’s been a dismal decade for those of us on the left of politics, for me personally it’s actually been better than an okay decade, the two major highlights for me personally were successfully coming out as trans in 2010 & then meeting the love of my life Alys (aka Kim Justice) in 2017. There have definitely been more positive than negative highlights for me personally this past decade, from giving up smoking in 2011, to finally managing to move into a decent home in 2016, to surviving a heart attack in 2018 (yes surviving a heart attack is a positive), there was also going to the Houses of Parliament for the first time in 2013 to lobby MPs on the issue of trans rights & subsequently doing so several times, then there was finally getting to talk to my trans hero Caroline Cossey though it’s a shame she turned out to be an utter truscum bigoted cunt well they do say don’t they that you should never meet your heroes they’ll only ever disappoint you.

This has certainly been the decade when trans people became far more prevalent in the public eye, yeah this isn’t just the decade where I came out as trans but just about the entirety of the trans community has seemed to have come out from hiding rejoicing in trans being far more about liberation then it being a stigma. Sure as a consequence of trans people having been far more prevalent in the public eye & thus there being far more interest from the mainstream media in trans people, it’s given rise to the cult of the professional tranny celebrity which I don’t think is helpful in the long term for trans people, however I do acknowledge that trans people appearing in the mainstream media has helped push justice & equality for trans people further up the political agenda which is no bad thing. Yes with trans rights becoming far more of a hot topic politically it’s created a transphobic backlash this however was always going to be inevitable as it’s happened previously when the issue of justice & equality have come to the forefront of the political zeitgeist in regards to other sections of society, but when looking back overall at the past decade regards to the plight of trans people I do think its been mostly positive & one of the few things non transphobic progressive lefties can smile about.

Richard Garner a friend who I lost near the beginning of this decade but still miss

For me personally & for me as a trans woman yes this decade has been generally positive, however it’s not as if I didn’t lose people close to me along the way, in particularly I think of my friend Richard Garner who died of a drugs overdose in 2011, after all these years I still find myself in floods of tears thinking about Rick, yes our politics were different he a libertarian-anarchist & me a socialist but we often found common ground politically whether it was opposition to the war in Iraq or legalizing pot, he was also a massive supporter of the LGBTQ community & supported me when I came out as trans when many others round me didn’t, but what I miss most of all about Richard was he was just as Punk Rock as me liking all the same movies & music & definitely having the same fuck you attitude. The death of trans activist Lily Summers in 2016 is another bereavement I find myself getting moist eyes about, me & Lily were on different sides of the Labour Party but a great deal of what she warned about in regards Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership of the party has come true. I was recently reminded of a photo of me taken in a pub on New Year’s Eve 1999 along with 5 other drinking buddies, 20 years later I’m now the only one still alive, let us just say the deaths of those 5 chums weren’t due to natural causes, I don’t know sometimes I think I suffer from survivors guilt because I do often think how comes I’m still alive despite all the hard liquor I’ve drunk & all the illicit substances I’ve ingested.

Lemmy the world is duller place without him

This of course was the decade we lost Lemmy, he truly was the last of the troubadours who didn’t give a fuck, he just lived sex, drugs & rock ‘n’ roll to the fucking max. Lemmy was the very embodiment of sex, drugs & rock ‘n’ roll, definitely one of my ultimate rock & roll heroes & this world is a far duller place without him. Politically this was the decade we lost Charles Kennedy who I ironically once met in a bar sometime around 1998, he was a thoroughly decent man & in my opinion the last great leader of the Liberal Democrats, I remember back in 2003 he took a principled stance as Lib Dem leader in opposing Tony Blair’s ordering the involvement of the British military in the illegal invasion of Iraq, no other leader of a major parliamentary party did so & there were other prominent members of the Lib Dems such as former party leader Paddy Ashdown (who died last year) who supported the invasion of Iraq, so it was a brave stance he took & the right stance he took, he spoke for me & millions of people in opposition to Blair disgracing this country with the military misadventure in Iraq, Charles Kennedy might no longer be with us but I still applaud him for the stance he took.

I remember Lemmy died right at the end of 2015 & considering what a rock icon he was his death seems to have been a precursor to 2016 the year of the celebrity death what with the passing of David Bowie, Prince & George Michael etc. When historians look back upon this decade, 2016 will be seen as the pivotal year of this decade & not because it was the year Alan Rickman & Carrie Fisher died, but because it was the year of Brexit & Trump.

Back in 2009 I wrote an article for a news site which no longer exists, in which I essentially predicted the rise of the far-right during this decade, well both Brexit & Trump were a consequence of the rise of the far-right with all the hate & intolerance which comes with the far-right. You telling me that Brexit & Trump weren’t motivated by racism, Jesus fucking Christ don’t you recall the rhetoric which plumbed the depths of racist intolerance during both the EU referendum & the Trump presidential campaign?!?! Actually the truth as to what caused both Brexit & the election of Trump is the lack of investment by successive governments (including left of centre governments) in communities which had already spiralled ever downwards into being shitholes, people being constantly fucked in being denied any decent opportunity of bettering themselves & in waltzes the narcissistic egomaniac likes of Donald Trump & Nigel Farage telling the ill-educated poor & desperate living in those communities that its immigrants or people merely being different to them who are to blame for them being constantly fucked!

Brexit & Trump were a product of far-right opportunism, but that opportunism was given to them by the failure of the left, oh it’s definitely not been a good decade for political left that’s both the radical & mainstream left. Wonder whatever happened to the Occupy Movement, oh yeah they went the same way which Extinction Rebellion will be going, as in into historical obscurity having accomplished fuck all, I’m not saying street protests never accomplish anything because the Poll Taxes riots (& yes I was there) of nearly 30yrs ago were the beginning of the end for Margret Thatcher, but ultimately it will always be electoral politics which effects real change & how the mainstream left has failed spectacularly on that score this decade. Labour have lost 4 General Elections in a row this decade, sure the 2010 defeat was deserved as whole Blairite project had run its course & people wanted a change, the 2015 defeat well all Ed Miliband as Labour leader was offering was regurgitated Blairite shite which amounted to Tory lite & people just thought fuck it why not just have full fat Tory, some might want to somehow spin the 2017 defeat as some kind of victory yeah sure Labour did better then any pundit was expecting but it didn’t prevent the Tories in continuing to kill thousands more disabled people did it, as for the 2019 oh fuck we are all still reeling from that one being its one of the worse General Election defeats for Labour despite the Tories having been government for practically a decade.

Me with Jeremy Corbyn back in 2015

It seems a lifetime ago when upon that second Saturday in September of 2015, Jeremy Corbyn was elected Labour leader by a landslide & all us redder then red socialists got drunk as fuck thinking here starts the revolution, but here we less than 5yrs later & well the revolution is down the fucking shitter & on the brink of entering the 2020s I’ve never been as scared as I’m right now about my future as a consequence of being a disabled people. It’s disabled people who Labour have ultimately failed, I’m not saying disabled people should from now on never vote Labour again because of course they should continue voting Labour, what I’m saying is that Labour have failed disabled by not winning elections & thus not being in government & so not putting an end to the Tory genocide against disabled people.

The Official Tory policy when it comes to caring for the disabled

The most dismal thing of this dismal decade has been the scale of the Tory genocide against disabled people, yes I knew when the Tories were elected to government in 2010 they were going to make disabled people pay for the reckless behaviour of their banker chums which the decade previous had caused a global financial crisis. But I never thought it would result in the murder of a 100,000 plus disabled people nor the architect of the government program which has resulted in genocidal levels of disabled people being killed would be receiving a fucking knighthood in the 2020 New Year Honours!

I actually hate writing this kind of ‘year in review’ or ‘decade in review’ type article, not because often end up to be lengthy pieces, but there’s always stuff you forget to mention no matter how many notes you make. Dale Farm, the war in Libya, the riots across Britain in the summer of 2011, Chelsea Manning & Julian Assange, all important stuff which hasn’t gotten mentioned in depth with this review, I guess to sum up this review of the past decade would be to describe it as the stuff which had the biggest impact on me or just that I can’t write about everyfuckingthing which has happened this decade.

Is ‘The War On Christmas’ Only A Thing When There’s A Labour Government

I’ve noticed over the past month that my local town centre hasn’t seemed nearly as Christmassy with decorations etc as it did 15 or 20 years ago, which has me wondering if the supposed ‘war on Christmas’ is only a thing which the likes of the Daily Mail & far-right trolls rant about when there’s a liberally minded Labour government & not when there’s a hard-right Tory government? Labour were in government 15 or so years ago & my town centre along with no doubt many town centres were far more festively decorative then they have been over the past couple of years, I remember back then the local shopping mall would be decked out in holly & tinsel & fairy lights & whatever other Christmassy decorations come the day after Halloween, yet the Daily Mail & other Tory entities would endlessly bitch about there being a supposed ‘war on Christmas’ something of which I’ve not heard nearly as much about in recent years when the Tories have been in government.

There have been complaints about the Christmas tree in the centre of Trafalgar Square looking a bit ‘sparse’ & ‘anaemic’ regards its foliage, including from the vilest of vile hatemongering gobshite trolls Katie Hopkins who used ‘Britain’s most famous Christmas tree’ not looking the healthiest of Christmas trees which the Norwegians have sent us, to have an Islamophobic swipe at London Mayor Sadiq Khan. Of course Katie Hopkins will have you believe the reason why local councils haven’t gone as full hog as maybe they use to in regards to Christmassy decorations in towns centres & whatever else is because of the ‘Islamification’ of Britain, when in fact the real reason is due to Tory austerity meaning local councils being short of funds etc.

I bet in response to me writing all this I’ll have some gammon who thinks they’re a smartarse asking why the fuck should I care about Christmas decorations because aren’t I supposed to be Jewish, well I guess it’s unlikely any gammon would have heard the joke about the rabbi & the Hanukkah bush. As its goes I’m not an observant Jew, in fact I’m an atheist, this always confuses the fuck out of gammon not understanding that what qualifies you as a Jew isn’t eating kosher & regularly attending your local synagogue, but simply if your mother was a Jew then you are a Jew & it just so happens my mother was Jewish. Even if I was an observant Jew what’s wrong with liking Christmas décor, anyways what religious significance is there with the contemporary Christmas the vast majority of people celebrate? Saw no mention of trees decorated with tinsel & baubles & fairy lights in any bible verse I’ve ever read nor any mention of roast turkey & plum pudding, nor any mention that it was to be traditional to veg out half comatose on the living room sofa come 4pm on Christmas Day due over consumption, yeah you really seriously going to tell me Christmas has any religious significance to gammon?!?!

Christmas obviously does have significance for practicing Christians, who some of the more devout will whinge no matter what about there being a ‘war on Christmas’ which is code for them not being able to impose how they reckon people ought to be celebrating Christmas on all others. Far-right Tommy Robinson supporting gammon & Christian fundamentalists always love to claim this country is Christian nation & this is the only time Christmas does have any religious significance for gammon as it’s a means to be bigoted fucks towards Muslims, yeah well I got news for gammon that its Paganism which is the indigenous religion of the British Isles not Christianity & in fact much of what we now associate with Christmas comes from it originally being the Pagan festival of Yule.

Though the Tory press might not bleat on as much as about there being a ‘war on Christmas’ as they once did when there was a Labour government, ironically it’s due to the economic policies of the current Tory government which is preventing many people from enjoying Christmas in the manner they’d want to, it’s the Tories who are preventing people from getting a great deal enjoyment from Christmas, it’s in fact the Tories who are the enemy of Christmas not Labour.

Trolls & Arseholes Rush To The Defence Of JK Rowling

Well, well, fucking well, have a guess which vilest of vile hatemongering gobshite trolls has rushed to the defence of JK Rowling coming out publicly as transphobic bigot…

I’m not at all surprised Katie Hopkins has rushed to defend JK Rowling considering the hatemongering gobshite has a long history of spewing transphobic hate which has included trolling the trans community on the Trans Day Of Remembrance, oh & what the fuck was Katie inferring by the ‘trans brigade’, what does Katie think trans people have a trans specific emergency service we can call on when one of us is in distress because how I wish there in fact was. Obviously what Katie Hopkins is inferring by ‘trans brigade’ is there’s some cabal of militant trans activists who act like some guerrilla terrorist group equivalent to the Angry Brigade or the Baader–Meinhof Group, yeah because apparently trans people daring to vocally defend ourselves against hate & bigotry is fucking terrorism isn’t it NOT! The far-right seriously do think trans people merely wanting equality & respect are part of some giant all-powerful Cultural-Marxist conspiracy to pervert western civilisation, yeah well this was parodied in the Pink News after the recent General Election with the headline Once Again Powerful Transgender Lobby Elects 0 Openly Trans Or Non-Binary MPs.

JK Rowling

Its however not just the far-right with the likes of Katie Hopkins who’ve been defending JK Rowling being a transphobic bigot, on the other end of the political spectrum the supposed ‘paper of the left’ which once employed outgoing Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn as columnist is also defending JK Rowling being a transphobic twat. The Morning Star the supposed ‘paper of the left’ have solidarity when it comes to championing greater social justice & equality for the homeless, poor, Muslims & the disabled, even rad-fem lesbians, but when it comes to trans people the Morning Star time again chuck us under the bus as proven by them repeatedly giving a platform to the most odiously outrageous transphobic bigots. My fucking arse are the Morning Star the ‘paper of the left’, with the transphobic bullshit they repeatedly publish they’ve more appeal to Southern Rednecks then anyone else as pointed out by my old mentor Natacha Kennedy.

We all know about the far-right when it comes to homophobic/transphobic bigotry & intolerance, but I’ve long said that the hard-left/radical-left also has an issue when it comes transphobic bigotry, the transphobic shit repeatedly published in the Morning Star, the transphobic abuse you’ll be subjected to on any Facebook group which is supposedly meant to be orientated to socialist campaigning whenever you post anything which is in defence of trans people, the lack of LGBTQ speakers at any antifascist demo held by whatever front organisation for the Socialist Worker Party, it’s all hints which add up to you concluding that those who supposedly the most ardent champions of diversity & social justice don’t give a shit that trans lives matter & trans rights are human rights. Oh sure all on the hard-left/radical-left were united in support of Jeremy Corbyn who has spent over 50 years campaigning for LGBTQ people, however many of his supporters sadly didn’t take note of his support for LGBTQ equality & I’ve repeatedly said Labour has had a bigger problem with transphobia then with antisemitism but because the mainstream news media are transphobic as fuck it’s not been as widely reported. Not everybody socialist is a transphobic fuck, journalist & activist Owen Jones has been a first-class trans ally, Owen has been more then vocal in campaigning that trans lives matter & trans rights are human rights & in doing so has often has borne the brunt of abuse for transphobic bigots, me thinks he’s a shining example which other socialist activists on the hard-left/radical-left could learn much
