Green Party WTF?!?!

Zionist troll Joseph Cohen apparently seems to think Jeremy Corbyn pledging to deliver a Green New Deal is a bad thing?!?! You’d have thought Joseph being an Orthodox Jew might be more concerned with the Green Party wanting to ban Halal slaughter then worrying about any inconsistencies there’s been in the past regarding Jeremy Corbyn’s eco credentials, being as the method of Halal slaughter is practically the same as Kosher slaughter. With the Green Party pledging to ban Halal slaughter, I’m surprised that the king of the gammon Tommy Robinson hasn’t endorsed the Greens instead of endorsing Boris Johnson, though unlike Boris Johnson I think the Green Party wouldn’t welcome a public endorsement from a racist thug who’s also a convicted criminal.

David Cameron when Prime Minister back in 2011 was talking tough in taking military action against Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi whilst touring the Middle East selling arms to other despots, but it wasn’t piss weak feeble Ed Miliband the then leader of the Labour Party who criticised Cameron for his utter hypocrisy, no its was Green MP Caroline Lucas who at the time was also the party’s leader & I remember thinking fuck yeah finally a party leader saying what I want to be said in parliament.

Caroline Lucas

I still think Caroline Lucas is frigging awesome for much of what she says & being somewhat of a hippy at heart I still have a soft spot for the Green Party, but I have to confess these days I’m more than a tad disappointed in the Green Party. When at the beginning of this decade the Liberal Democrats showed their true colours by jumping into bed with the Tories & Labour were piss weak as a consequence from still being under the heel of Blairite toryism, I thought there was an opportunity for the Green Party to capture the progressive vote in a similar manner to how at the time UKIP were capturing a large section of the hard right vote due to David Cameron having steered the Tories to being more socially liberal, but for whatever reason the Green Party didn’t capitalise on this opportunity. Labour are now of course a very different political beast to what they were at the beginning of the decade, having jettisoned the dogma of Blairite toryism & rediscovered its socialist soul largely thanks to Jeremy Corbyn being elected in 2015 as party leader, Labour are now a party vocally opposed to the British government selling weapons to fuck awful despotic regimes such there is in Saudi Arabia & the party are campaigning this General Election upon the most eco-socialist manifesto ever put forward by any major British political party, but none of this good enough for the Green Party who’d rather collude with yellow Tories.

A few years back I remember there was Californian city (can’t remember exactly what city it was) who had wanted to fuel its entire bus network with biodiesel but the local Green Party were loudly objecting to this because animal fat would be used as component in the production of the biodiesel which was going to be used, now okay this was a branch of the Green Party in the United States but this story from California adequately illustrates the typical mentally you’ll find with Green Party activists & supporters this side of the pond, a mentality as the old saying goes of cutting their noses off to spite their faces. The Green Party really do seem to love being smug sanctimonious fuckers giving it large with righteous-indignation to feel superior & they’ve certainly been at it with the smug righteous-indignation when it comes to attacking Labour’s manifesto because it’s not fastidious on point for them, despite the fact Labour are the only party are who proposing a Green New Deal & could actually could deliver a Green New Deal.

It’s not going to be the Lib Dems who are going to be able to deliver a Green New Deal, its not the Lib Dems who are going to enact measures which will usher in a green industrial revolution creating hundreds of thousands of new jobs & make British industry the envy of the world when it comes to cutting edge eco technology, it’s not going not going to be the Lib Dems who are going to help deliver a zero carbon economy by 2030, because the Lib Dems aren’t going to be forming the next government but Labour could very well deliver Green New Deal with all the awesome positive eco benefits which will come from it as there’s still a realistic chance of Labour forming the next government post the General Election towards the end of next week, yet it’s the Lib Dems who the Greens have entered an electoral pact with.

The Green Party at the 2017 General Election stood candidates down in various constituencies to give a better chance of Labour parliamentary candidates getting elected, which is understandable considering the large overlap there is with the ethos & policies of both parties, but I have to scratch my head at Green Party going into an electoral pact with the Lib Dems regardless of the Lib Dems betraying the progressive vote in the aftermath of the 2010 General Election but because it’s kind of obvious to me that Jo Swinson is trying to revert the Lib Dems back to being a classical-liberal party rather than appearing to be the social-liberal (left-liberal) party people have perceived the Lib Dems to be & well classical-liberalism is antithetical to eco-socialism. Okay I get the Green Party went into an electoral pact with the Lib Dems along with the Welsh nationalists to help get MPs elected who’ll categorically oppose Brexit, but you’d think the Green Party would have been of the opinion that climate-change was a far more important issue then fucking Brexit because the fact is climate-change is a far more important issue then Brexit as it threatens the entire planet, me thinks Green Party peeps have some serious thinking to do prior to December 12th.

Now We’ve Had Farage Question Time Will We Get Green Party Question Time?

Jo Swinson might whine she was excluded from last night’s ITV Leaders Debate, in fact when is the yellow-tory leader of Liberal Democrats not whining about what the fuck ever reminiscent of Veruca Salt, but ITV did air a program featuring interviews with leaders from all the smaller parties of electoral significance about an hour after the debate between Corbyn & Johnson, so Jo Swinson got an opportunity to whine some more, anyways along with Swinson being interviewed so were Nigel Farage being as he’s the leader of the Brexit Party & Sian Berry co-leader of the Green Party & I guess should applaud ITV for appearing to give equal election coverage to both the Brexit Party & the Green Party because over on BBC1 at about the same time in the late evening guess which pompous racist twat got his own special half an hour edition of Question Time.

The Brexit Party have ZERO local councillors elected whereas the Green Party have 300 plus elected, the Brexit Party have ZERO Members of Parliament elected & GE2019 will result in them continuing to have ZERO Members of Parliament whereas the Green Party have one MP elected & GE2019 will at the very least have Caroline Lucas re-elected to parliament & who knows the Remain Alliance might pay dividends resulting in Caroline Lucas not being the only Green Party MP, but do you reckon either of the Green Party co-leaders Sian Berry or Jonathan Bartley will have their special half an hour edition of Question Time, I certainly haven’t heard the BBC planning to do so, but of course this is the BBC we are talking about who long ago jumped the shark when it comes to the direction they’re moving the Overton Window, this is the BBC who’ve given Nigel Farage the pompous racist twat a seat on the Question Time panel more times then any other politician over the past decade & then give a half an hour special edition anytime there’s a General Election whereas the leadership representative from the Green Party are lucky to get a 15 minute slot on a shared edition of Question Time with the leader of Plaid Cymru airing close to midnight on a Sunday night.

Jonathan Bartley & Sian Berry

Its not I object to the BBC giving Nigel Farage a media platform because he’s a pompous racist twat, yes I despise him for being a pompous racist twat but what I’m specifically objecting to here is to the BBC giving Farage & the Brexit Party get disproportionally far more of media platform then the likes of the Green Party who are domestically more electorally successful.

Brexit Party Electoral Shenanigans

Pretty frigging obvious to me that the far-right likes of Tommy Robinson & Nigel Farage exploit the base fear & hate of gullible gammon to boost their own egos & feather their nests (then some), there was no finer illustration of this when yesterday Farage as leader of the Brexit Party announced the Brexit Party will not be standing candidates in any of the 317 parliamentary constituencies the Tories won at the 2017 General Election & in return I’m certain Boris has ensured Farage is in line for a knighthood or peerage when it comes to the New Year’s honours which will be worth hundreds of thousands of pounds (if not millions) when it comes to lucrative after dinner speakers circuit in North America.

Nigel Farage who soon enough will be knighted or made a life peer but I’ll be damned if I’ll address him as anything other then a pompous twat

The BBC’s Politics Live program was yesterday as per usual with the mainstream news media giving the Brexit Party disproportionately more coverage as compared to other minor parties such as the Greens, I mean the Brexit Party has ZERO MPs & ZERO local councillors & after this coming General Election will still have ZERO MPs whereas the Greens have 300+ local councillors & come December 12th will at the very least re-elect Caroline Lucas the one MP they have in parliament, but anyways various political pundits in the Politics Live studio seemed somewhat stunned & shocked in reaction to Nigel Farage’s announcement that the Brexit Party won’t be standing candidates in Tory leaning constituencies, I’m actually somewhat surprised that any political pundit would be shocked that the Brexit Party would enter an unofficial electoral pact with the Tories because I certainly wasn’t shocked as its always been apparent to me that the Brexit Party were pretty much a Tory fringe group.

It might please Tory bigwigs that the Brexit Party is stepping aside in Tory leaning constituencies but I’m not sure it will please the Kremlin considering all the Russian Roubles they’ve funnelled with creative accounting into this country to bankroll Nigel Farage & the Brexit in order they can further destabilise & fuck up this nation, actually rumour has it that the Tories are also being bankrolled with dodgy Russian money, so Boris better hope he wins the General Election & seriously screws this country up with Brexit otherwise Putin will ensure there’s more Parmesan cheese being sprinkled on Boris’s spag-bog.

If Boris doesn’t successfully manage to screw up this country with Brexit then I suggest he starts checking there isn’t radioactive seasoning on his food

Some are obviously asking if the Brexit Party & the Tories are entering an unofficial electoral pact then why can’t Labour & the Lib Dems do likewise? Of course there’s already the Remain Alliance involving Lib Dems along with the Green Party & the Welsh & Scottish nationalists, each party standing down candidates in constituencies where candidates from each of those other parties have a better chance of winning thus not splitting the ‘Remain vote’, I’ve one major problem with this & that is there are more important issues then fucking Brexit, such as homelessness, hunger, poverty, fucking Tory austerity which Jo Swinson & the Lib Dems helped to inflict upon some of the most vulnerable people when they were propping up the Tories in the 2010-2015 coalition government, plus why the fuck should Labour help out the Lib Dems when Jo Swinson repeatedly says the Lib Dems would never support a Labour Party led by Jeremy Corbyn & spends far more time attacking Jeremy Corbyn & Labour then attacking Boris Johnson & the Tories, Swinson is no more then a Tory wearing a yellow rosette & I expected better of Caroline Lucas to align herself & the Greens with Yellow Tories.

So pretty clear the Brexit Party on behalf of the Tories are targeting Labour seats in northern England which voted for Brexit in the 2016 EU Referendum, hey good luck with that but I think the Brexit Party are in for a rude awakening as are the Tories wherever they’re targeting seats in Northern England, these are the former industrial heartlands destroyed by the Tory government of Margret Thatcher & these are also the same constituencies hardest hit by Tory austerity over the past decade something which I’m sure Jeremy Corbyn & Labour will remind voters about, Labour have boots on the ground with Momentum advocating a message of hope built upon concrete policies to address the issues effecting people & believe it was due to the hard work of Momentum activists at the last election as to why Labour gained far more seats than pundits predicted, so who the fuck do the Brexit Party have campaigning for them other then a few gammon thugs & disgruntled racist biddies offering fuck all solutions to the real issues effecting people, ah but of course a vote for the Brexit Party means blue passports because blue passports are going to alleviate poverty aren’t they.

The Day After Trans Pride Brighton

I’ve been downing Tramadol this morning after Trans Pride Brighton as if they were fucking Smarties due to the physical agony attending events such as Trans Pride Brighton & Pride in London has on disabled me, however the physical agony I now feel due to my exertions yesterday in attending TPB was worth it not only when it comes to the reward in being able to do my bit to champion the trans cause & to shout loudly & proudly trans is beautiful, but because this was the best TPB for me on a personal level specifically due to two fellow trans women I met

I want to give a special mention to both Patricia & Dee who I met at Trans Pride Brighton as they were both were really sweet by simply being welcoming of me, with being autistic & physically disabled I’ve often found it hard to socially connect with people at events such as TPB & often found people who I thought would be friendly towards me not actually being very welcoming of me at all, so yeah it meant a lot there were people at TPB wanting to know me & who I also discovered really value the stuff I write. Patricia is the chief organiser of the trans group I’ve more often than not marched with in the Pride London parade, though we’ve only recently become far more friendly to one another & I’ve discovered that despite various political differences Patricia is one of the sweetest trans women I’ve ever met, I also discovered that despite our political differences Patricia has been moved to tears by some of the articles I’ve written of late. Dee I met for the first time at TPB 2019, I actually thought she was going to ask for my autograph as she really did come over as something of a mega fan of my whole ‘don’t give a fuck’ style of writing, she was definitely expressing a great deal of praise about me as a writer to her friends, I’m seriously blown the fuck away because usually I’m met with quite a bit of indifference about the stuff I write even from those who claim they ‘care’ about me.

As lovely as it might have been for Trans Pride Brighton to facilitate my ego being massaged & thus helping to make this the best TPB on a personal level, of far more importance is that organisers are saying overall this is the best TPB there’s been so far, there definitely appeared to be more people participating in the TPB parade along the Brighton seafront & there definitely were more attendees both trans & cis at the park event & the park was chock full stalls more then there’s previously been giving out info on all kinds of trans related stuff.

Well I’m pleased to report this year’s Trans Pride Brighton there was no attempt by terfy transphobic bigoted motherfuckers to spoil the event with some disruptive stunt to push their odious agenda of transphobic hate, though the bigoted motherfuckers have been getting their panties in a bind online about Green Party MP & former party leader Caroline Lucas having attended TPB. Caroline Lucas was indeed in attendance at this year’s TPB & it’s not the first she’s attended because as being the local MP she also steadfastly supports greater equality & social-justice for trans people & reiterated this in the awesome speech she gave when addressing those of us who were about to participate in the TPB parade along Brighton’s promenade, I’d expect nothing from Caroline because I’ve long known she’s fucking awesome!

Caroline Lucas at Trans Pride Brighton

Maybe it’s time terfy transphobic bigoted motherfuckers twigged they’re very much on the wrong side of history as they’ve lost their culture war against the trans community which was always was fucking asinine in the first place, because it’s not just Caroline Lucas or Jeremy Corbyn & MPs on the left of the political spectrum who support trans people’s wish to live free as their true selves & to do so without harassment for being their true selves. Maybe terfy transphobic bigoted motherfuckers ought to do the decent thing & fuck off & literally choked on their sour grapes, certainly time they realised their political friends aren’t to be found on the radical-left but on the far-right, as TERFs obsessive hatred of trans people & in particular of trans women has a great deal in common with the far-right & their brand of bigoted hate.

One thing which I took away from this year’s Trans Pride Brighton which gave me hope for the future was when talking to younger trans & non binary activists whilst marching in the TPB parade who like myself fear the increasing rise of the far-right & thus are very much dedicated to campaigning against the threat the far-right pose, good news to hear the future generation of trans activists are taking the threat which the far-right pose far more seriously as it’s been my experience in the recent past that those Guardian reading middle-class trans women who’ve tended to steer the direction of the trans community have been far too complacent about the threat which the far-right pose & thus have never been that willing to do anything to effectively campaign against the far-right.

The growth of Trans Pride Brighton from where it started in back in 2013 to the size it is in 2019 has been an astonishing success & I’m proud to have been part of it’s success, long may TPB grow & have increasing success in being able to raise awareness of the trans cause & to champion trans is beautiful! As long as terfy transphobic bigots have influence in the mainstream media, so long as the mainstream media continues to attack the trans community, so long as there are increasing physical assaults motivated by transphobic hate, so long as trans people aren’t receiving adequate healthcare, so long as the far-right pose a threat to there being diversity & tolerance of diversity, there will be a need for TPB.

Soph’s Opinion On The Results Of The European Elections

Amongst the Brexit Party MEPs elected at these latest European Elections was Claire Fox who was elected in the North West region & Claire is a known Trans Exclusion Radical Feminist who has a gaggle of supporters tweeting #DropTheT rather than #LGBTQunite, but Claire wasn’t the only transphobe/homophobe to be elected as a Brexit MEP, because Anne Widdecombe the 70 year old virgin who’s a Dickensian moralising hag was elected a MEP for the South West region & not only is she anti LGBTQ but she’s also anti-abortion, hmm wonder how Claire as a supposed ‘radical feminist’ feels about sharing a platform with a uber conservative Christian who wants to use the Hand Maid’s Tale as an instruction manual, oh right I forgot Brexit precious Brexit turns people into Gollum like creatures.

Talking of the North West & the South West regions, of course we had far-right shitlords Tommy Robinson & Carl Benjamin standing in those respective regions as candidates & I’m very pleased to report neither were elected MEPs, but unfortunately Tommy received nearly 39,000 votes in the North West which means there’s nearly 39,000 too many gammon imbeciles residing in the North West of England, Carl Benjamin received just over 50,000 votes in the South West & I just can’t believe there are that many assholes in the South West of England who are prepared to vote for a guy who thinks its funny to send rape threats to female MPs. Goody-good that neither Tommy Robinson nor Carl Benjamin are going to the European Parliament rather they’re both more than likely going to court as both have legal trouble which could result in them both receiving custodial sentences, Tommy is to be retried for Contempt of Court & Carl could face a trial for the rape threats he made against Jess Philips & others, yeah I don’t think Carl would be making light of rape if he does get his arse thrown in prison & has to pick up the soap in the shower.

Overall the predictions this weighty if somewhat sweary political commentator made about the results of the European Elections were pretty bang on, though results from Scotland have yet to be declared, I was pretty spot on that the Tories would have a fucking dismal set of election results which is exactly what happened with them getting less then 10% of the vote & the Green Party pushing them into fifth place with the Greens getting more than double the number of MEPs elected, I was pretty bang on about Farage’s Brexit Party cult would come out top & perform better then opinion polls were suggesting & that Labour would perform less well than the opinion polls were suggesting, I just didn’t expect that the Liberal Democrats to do so dramatically better than they’ve previously performed at European Elections & come in second behind the Brexit Party.

I wasn’t the only natural Labour supporter who swapped their vote to the Green Party, both the Green Party & Liberal Democrats benefited at the expense of Labour it appears & as for the reason why, well it’s obviously because Labour have fucked up when it comes to having a clear policy on Brexit, Labour frontbencher Emily Thornberry pretty much said Labour have been shite on the BBC’s Election coverage & she said Labour need to come out in support of a second referendum & she’s not been the only Labour frontbencher who’s said as much in the past 48hrs. I’d certainly prefer Labour did come out fully in support of a second referendum, but I think it more important that Labour just stopped fence sitting & came down one side or the other on the issue of Brexit & be extremely fucking clear & concise what the party’s official policy on Brexit happens to be because the Lib Dems, the Green Party & the Brexit Party all are very clear where they stand on Brexit & all gained votes & therefore gained seats at the European Elections whereas Labour have been clear as mud & as a result lost votes & thus lost seats.

Farage’s Brexit Party cult comes out on top at the European Elections thanks to the support of Russian Rubles

So what influence will Farage’s Brexit Party coming out top at these European Elections have on the direction of British politics? Even before the results of the European Elections were revealed we already were seeing the influence of the prospect of the Brexit Party coming out top upon the Tory Party leadership contest with the leadership candidates having a pissing contest in the news media about who’s more of a hardarse Brexiter, as for Nigel Farage well the likes of the BBC will probably return to giving him a platform as they did when he was leader of UKIP & UKIP came out top at the 2014 European Elections, so he can sew even more hate & intolerance & practice stochastic terrorism & destabilise this country, but hey that’s why he & the Brexit Party are being bankrolled with Russian Rubles.

Predictions On The Results Of The European Elections & The Consequence Of Those Results

I’ll admit I wasn’t going to write anything today as I’m absolutely frigging knackered & have recurrence of tendonitis in the shoulder of my one good arm not effected by cerebral palsy & thus had wanted to rest up, particularly as tomorrow I’m due to go to Comic-Con which is something I’ve been really looking forward to big time! As for the reason despite feeling utter shite I’m in fact writing this, well my trans journalist friend Jane Fae reminded me that I’m weighty if somewhat sweary political commentator & as a political commentator there’s an expectation to write pieces such as these, especially if one wants to get noticed as a political commentator & I obviously I do, so here I’m doped up to my eyeballs on painkillers typing something which at most 10 people will read. People think what the likes of myself do is a dos & a doddle when in fact it’s far from a total fucking doddle & this is why I’ve explained what I’ve explained during this first paragraph regardless of it having nothing to do with any predictions on the European Elections results & the consequence of those results.

Being as the UK goes to the polls on a Thursday & the rest of Europe votes at the weekend, we won’t know the results of the European Elections until Sunday night, so time enough to make some predictions on the results here in the UK & the consequences of those results on the direction of politics in this country, we’ve in fact already seen one major consequence of the possible results with Theresa May announcing she’s resigning, okay May stepping down as Prime Minister has far more to do with her utter incompetency in being Prime Minister, losing the Tories parliamentary majority at the last General Election & thus not being able to deliver Brexit as she promised, but it’s probably been the Tories worse ever local election results & now the possibility that the results of the European Elections could be the worst ever election results for the Tories at a national election which finally had Theresa May stepping down from being Prime Minister.

When the results of the European Elections are known on Sunday, I’m pretty certain the Tories will have been fucking mullered at the ballot box & when I say the Tories have been mullered it’s likely there’ll come fifth behind the Green Party (who of course I voted for) if the last round of opinion polls are anything to go by.

As for who will come out top in these European Elections, well obviously that will be Farage’s Brexit Party cult, no matter Nigel Farage refusing to get off his campaign bus because there were people outside drinking milkshakes & that there were free milkshakes being handed out at his polling station yesterday, funny how it wasn’t milkshakes which got rid of Theresa May but ultimately it was people voting.

There were numerous stories yesterday of EU Nationals who the authorities had made various promises that they’d be guaranteed a vote being turned away from polling stations & thus in fact denied a vote, which of course will favour the Brexit Party coupled with uber low turnout. Even when there’s been really low turnout at previous elections there’s always been voters going in & out of my local polling station, when I went to vote yesterday it was deserted, there weren’t even tellers sitting outside & on past election day I’ve always seen tellers outside my local polling station even when there’s been practically a monsoon raging.

Selfie of yours truly outside my local polling station

Guaranteed Farage’s Brexit Party cult will top the polls at the European Elections, so it’s guaranteed he’ll be back on the BBC’s Question Time program every other fucking week & Question Time will descend once again into Farage Time with the pompous racist practicing his brand of stochastic terrorism.

Farage’s previous party UKIP will be lucky if they get one MEP elected, UKIP’s Carl Benjamin certainly won’t get elected as a MEP in the South West region, my predictions for Carl following the results of the European Elections is he’s likely going to have his Sargon of Akkad YouTube channel taken down along with his other channels because he’s not being giving YouTube & its owner Google any good press over recent weeks & Google will obviously be worried about this possibly affecting their image & their bottom line, I also suspect Carl might be facing a custodial sentence for the rapey bullshit against Jess Philips, yeah lets see Carl make light of rape once he’s had to pick up the soap in the prison shower. As well as Carl Benjamin, the other far-right douchebag shitlord to be standing in the European Elections has been Tommy Robinson in the North West region, there is a slim chance because of low turnout that Tommy could be elected as MEP, though I’m still doubtful he will, his horde of gammon fanboys might very well of gone out to vote for him & attempted to bully other voters to also vote for Tommy, but I reckon by early/mid afternoon yesterday most of his gammon supporters will have retired to the nearest Wetherspoons pub to drink themselves silly as louts usually do.

Now here’s the number the of MEPs Change UK will have gotten elected at these European Elections (drumroll) ZERO! The Lib Dems will likely pick up more seats then they done at previous European Elections but other then Lib Dems who really gives a crap because I certainly don’t.

Whereas I think the Brexit Party will do better then the opinions polls were suggesting, I think Labour will in fact do worse then the opinion polls were suggesting, Labour will certainly do far better then the Tories have done at these European Elections & Labour activists will be patting themselves on the back because the Tories got walloped, I’d warn Labour activists against such complacency as I wasn’t the only diehard supporter of Jeremy Corbyn’s Labour Party who swapped their vote yesterday to the Green Party because of the Labour leadership’s ambiguous waffling on Brexit & though I more then likely will go back to voting Labour at the next General Election & at the next round of local elections others might not.

Today Soph Will Be Voting Green

Today is polling day in the UK for the 2019 European Elections & I’ll being casting my vote for the Green Party. So why am I voting Green Party? Why not Change UK? Why not vote for the Lib Dems? Why not vote Labour when I’ve claimed that if you cut me open I’d bleed Labour?!?!?

It’s not as if I disagree very much with Anna Soubry MP when it comes to opposing Brexit & championing the need for a second referendum, but Change UK are a fucking joke, I mean this is a party who select candidates who then promptly defect to the Liberal Democrats, despite essentially being a bunch of careerist politicians they can’t even organise registering a party logo with Electoral Commission, a party originally formed complaining of racism with the Labour Party only for one of those MPs who split from Labour complaining about racism within Labour to then go on the BBC & make racist remarks merely hours after the initial launch of what’s now become Change UK, it’s the fucking Keystone Cops & then some with Change UK, but my biggest gripe with Change UK is they don’t in fact want Change, they’re a bunch of disgruntled Blairites who want to continue with the Blairite doctrine of neoliberalist capitalism which caused the 2008 Financial Crisis & will keep on reeking misery on the many & only rewarding the few.

I applaud the Liberal Democrats for having entitled their European Elections manifesto ‘Bollocks To Brexit’, but I will NEVER vote for the Lib Dems ever again, not after I voted for them at the 2010 General Election thinking they represented the progressive vote only for them to betray progressives who voted for them by propping up David Cameron’s Tory administration & the austerity that Tory administration inflicted on the most vulnerable in society which has contributed to deaths of over 100,000 disabled people & as a disabled person myself yeah I take it fucking personally.

Labour’s official policy on Brexit seems to change on a daily basis, so what is Labour’s official policy today being it’s polling day for the European Elections, is the official policy on Brexit different for voters in the north who tend to support Brexit then it is for voters down south who tend to oppose Brexit, is it Labour will honour the outcome of 2016’s EU referendum or is Labour will push for second referendum, even Labour’s own MPs are confused as what the party’s official policy on Brexit happens to be & Jeremy Corbyn hasn’t given much clarity during the entire European Elections campaign other to say Labour opposes a No-Deal-Brexit, with whatever else is going on with Theresa May currently she was right when in parliament yesterday she essentially said Jeremy Corbyn had to get off the fence on the issue of Brexit. I know Jeremy Corbyn would rather discuss tackling poverty & climate change & sure those issues are of far greater importance then Brexit, but the European Elections are very much about Brexit & Jeremy’s constantly ambiguous waffling on the issue during the entirety of European Elections campaign has put me off voting Labour today.

The Green Party oppose austerity & oppose Brexit & they’re more likely then Labour to get MEPs elected in the South East region then Labour, I’ll probably revert back to voting Labour at the next round of local elections & at the next General Election because Jeremy Corbyn is pretty bang fucking on when it comes to domestic policy, it’s just on the issue of Brexit where Jeremy Corbyn has lost his way.

So is what I’m doing to today a protest vote? I’d say no because I’m actually voting for the party which is closest to my own political stances at the European Elections & isn’t that how one should vote.

The LE2019 Results Weren’t A ‘Remain Backlash’ But A Return To The Lib Dems Being The Vote Of Protest

Because the Liberal Democrats & The Green Party were the two parties who had the best local election results & because both parties have been the two parties who put the most effort into vigorously opposing Brexit, Remainers have drawn the conclusion that the local election results equal there being a ‘remain backlash’, I’m personally far more cautious in drawing the conclusion these local election results are a ‘remain backlash’, as often said one swallow does not a summer make & I’d wait until after May 23rd & we know the results of the European Parliamentary Elections to draw any conclusions as to whether there’s a definite change in attitude towards Brexit amongst the electorate.

Yes on the face of it, UKIP’s vote collapsing & the two parties who have been most ardent in opposing Brexit coming out on top with net seats gained at the local elections does seem as if there might be a change of attitude amongst the electorate towards Brexit, it’s certainly weird considering time & time again during the local elections campaign it was reported that canvassers from all parties were being met on the doorstep with hostility about Brexit not being delivered, however my explanation for the Lib Dems doing as well as they did is that this is a return to the Lib Dems being the electorate’s favourite protest vote.

The Lib Dems returning to being everybody’s favourite protest vote

Prior to the 2010 General Election the Liberal Democrats were always the electorate’s favourite protest vote, but in the aftermath of the 2010 General Election & the Lib Dems jumping into bed with the Tories, it was UKIP who emerged as the alternate protest vote whilst the Lib Dems were busy propping up David Cameron’s Tory government & losing their deposits at by-elections & having lousy local election results, I guess now enough time has passed since the end of the coalition government & peeps are now willing to vote Lib Dem again, even though I’d never vote Lib Dem ever again after betray the progressive vote back in 2010 & other local misdeeds, I’m actually glad that things seemed to have reverted back to how they use to be prior to the 2010 General Election, I mean I’d much prefer peeps voted for a party which is supposedly progressively slightly left of centre then vote UKIP who’ve I always thought had a far-right stench about them.

As for the Green Party doing well at these local elections, I think it’s a different reason as why the Lib Dems did well, it was a still a protest vote but a protest vote which has come as a consequence of the recent Extinction Rebellion protests in London pushing the issue of climate change up the political agenda.

Me thinks averting climate catastrophe is a far more important issue then fucking Brexit, yet the Tories by the admissions of their own ministers have been fiddling the figures on carbon reduction to make them look better then the real figures actually are, UKIP are so troglodyte they don’t think man made climate-change is a real thing, the Lib Dems say they want to take action to tackle climate-change but in my experience the Lib Dems perpetually say one thing & do another, as for Labour well there’s talk if they get back into government of reopening frigging coal mines (err what the fuck?!?!), so no wonder peeps might have been voting for the Green Party in larger numbers at these local elections, yes to truly make a difference in tackling climate change it takes multilateral action at an international level, but there’s plenty which can be done at a local level to improve the environment & I hope those Green Party councillors elected on Thursday can make a difference.

Soph’s Post LE2019 Mortem (& message to Jeremy Corbyn)

2019’s local election results are for me pretty frigging weird, take Swindon for instance where there was the recent announcement of an end to production at the Honda Plant which is situated in the area & this no doubt being a consequence of the Tories incompetent handling of Brexit & yet the voters of Swindon returned a Tory controlled council, but it’s the overall general outcome across the country of these local elections which has me scratching my head totally perplexed, I mean it was reported time & time again during the local elections campaign that canvassers from all parties were being met with hostility on the doorstep (including incidents of both verbal & physical abuse) about Brexit not being delivered & yet it’s the Liberal Democrats & the Green Party who’ve made the biggest council seat gains & these are very much the two parties who are the parties most vigorous in opposing Brexit, results worth noting included arch Tory Brexiter Jacob Rees Mogg now living in a Lib Dem controlled council in his Somerset constituency, the Lib Dems gaining control of former Tory PM David Cameron’s local Cotswold council & the Lib Dems controlling my local council though I didn’t vote Lib Dem & never will as I’ll never forget not forgive them for having jumped into bed in the aftermath of the 2010 General Election.

Of course as predicted the Tories got a drubbing at the ballot box, last time I checked the Tories had lost nearly a 1000 council seats & thus for the Tories this is now the worse ever set of local election results, so no wonder there were Tory activists heckling Theresa May to resign when today she spoke at the Welsh Tory conference as well as her own Tory MPs on BBC News calling for her to be ousted, If these local election results are any kind of barometer on Theresa May then she’s a far worse leader of the Tories then John Major was, but unlike when the Tories under the leadership of John Major were losing hundreds of council seats at the local elections, it’s not Labour who are gaining those seats, yes we have to talk about Labour’s underwhelming Local Elections performance.

Actually Labour’s local elections results weren’t underwhelming, Labour’s local election results were fucking woeful! At this mid stage cycle of a parliament, the party in opposition should be making significant gains at the local elections, probably for Labour somewhere in the range of 300–500 net seat gain, Labour however have made a net loss of around about 100 seats, oh it’s not just that Labour have made a net loss at these local elections, it’s also where Labour lost seats & lost control of local councils, Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Bolsover, yes Labour lost control of the council in Dennis Skinner’s fucking constituency, these should be safe as safe Labour strongholds!

Going on Labour’s 2019 local election performance they’re not going to be forming a government post the next general election, so why is this, we need to ask why Labour performed so poorly electorally yesterday? Well when Barry Gardner MP speaking on behalf of the Labour leadership appears on BBC News’s local election coverage takes near on 10 minutes to explain Labour’s policy on Brexit I think you have your answer as to why Labour performed woefully at the local elections.

Yes the local elections should be about bin collections not Brexit, but national politics have always been a factor when comes to local elections & one would be naïve to deny otherwise, so I agree with the general consensus of political pundits that it’s Labour’s lack of clarity on Brexit which cost them seats at these local elections. I’m a Labour Party supporter & a hardcore political animal & yet I’m pretty clueless as to Labour’s policy on Brexit, okay I kind of know what Labour’s position is but I certainly couldn’t explain it in clear & concise terms which is the point here. UKIP, the Lib Dems, The Green Party, even the Tories are one way or another pretty clear where they stand on Brexit, but Labour & Brexit, it’s about as clear as mud because Jeremy Corbyn has tried to be all things to all peeps on the issue, which leads one to think oh for fucks sake will you just come down one side or another on the issue! If Jeremy Corbyn & the Labour leadership want to back Brexit then fine that’s a definite & clear policy, alternatively so would backing a second referendum be a definite & clear policy, anything would be better then current mess of a position where you have Labour frontbenchers taking eons in attempting to explain Labour’s position on Brexit coming off sounding milli-mouth in the process & peeps tuning out & saying fuck you at the ballot box.

On many issues Jeremy Corbyn is bang on, but my support for Jezza is not unequivocal & I’m losing patience with his & Labour’s ambiguity on Brexit & so are voters less supportive of Labour then myself who are also less politically knowledgeable then myself, I’m no Blairite calling for Jeremy to be ousted, but what I’m calling for is Jeremy to get a grip & be clear as to where Labour stand on Brexit that’s all.
