Jews in Germany have been warned not to wear kippas in public due to rising antisemitism, kind of worrying I’d say that the German commissioner government commissioner for combating antisemitism is having to advise Jews living in Germany not to wear skullcaps in public due to the level of abuse which they might receive for wearing a symbol of their Jewish faith, actually its more than worrying, it’s frigging alarming considering the history of Germany in regards to antisemitism & that in recent German elections the far-right have made substantial gains.
Jews in Germany being warned they shouldn’t wear a symbol of their Jewish faith in public, it’s the canary in the coalmine (& then some) when it comes to antisemitism & yes this is antisemitism we are talking about not misguided fools & Zionist bigots conflating criticism of the Israeli government for being antisemitic, this is pure unindoctrinated antisemitism which is on the rise across Europe along with racism in general, so this kind of poses the question why is the son of the Israeli Prime Minister tweeting support for some of those far-right politicians in Europe who are encouraging the rise of antisemitism & racism.
Last week ahead of polling in the 2019 European Elections, Yair Netanyahu the son of Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted support for amongst others Viktor Orban & Nigel Farage both of whom are very much guilty of espousing antisemitic views. Viktor Orban is the far-right Prime Minister of Hungary who’s consistently espoused the antisemitic conspiracy theory that it’s a cabal of wealthy Jewish bankers such as George Soros are controlling the world economy, so kind of surprising Viktor isn’t a infrequent guest on Alex Jones’s radio show & contributor to his Infowars news site as this is pretty much what Jones espouses with his whole New World Order conspiracy theory, but Nigel Farage has been an infrequent guest on the Jones’s radio show where he hasn’t challenged Jones when he’s spouted his conspiratorial antisemitic bullshit & in fact Farage has made appearances elsewhere in the US news media where he’s said Jews were the biggest threat to US democracy.
So why would Yair Netanyahu be publicly endorsing far-right politicians who espouse blatant antisemitic views & his dad Benjamin as Prime Minister of Israel would be making friends with extremely odious far-right leaders around the globe, well one conspiracy doing the rounds is its in the hope the Jewish diaspora moves to Israel by making it hostile for Jews to live anywhere else, to be honest I kind of think this is somewhat of a bullshit theory, though the Israeli government has long had an open door policy for any Jew wanting to emigrate to Israel there’s been hostility, prejudice & discrimination towards those Jews who aren’t of White European descent. Maybe Netanyahu would like those European Jews who are independently wealthy to move to Israel, but what about the majority who aren’t because despite antisemitic conspiracy theories about us Jews controlling the world economy, most of us aren’t wealthy in fact I’m perpetually broke, bet when it comes to Jews living in my lowly economic class that Netanyahu & his government are just like every other rightwing government on the issue of immigration. I’ve heard in the past conspiracy theories about how back in the 1950s Mossad had agents burn down synagogues in North African countries which have majority Arab populations as means of scaring Jews to move to Israel which at the time was a newly established nation wanting to bolster its population & I’ve consistently heard this conspiracy theory being propagated by funny enough Alex Jones & other out & out antisemitic bigots, which is another reason why I think it bullshit that Netanyahu would be wanting to encourage hate towards Jews in Europe to get them to move to Israel.
I don’t want Jews to feel as if they need to move Israel to express their Jewish faith freely without the fear of antisemitic abuse, no Jew should be prevented from expressing their Jewishness unless it infringes upon the rights of others to about their business etc & that goes for Muslims & Christians also Sikhs or Hindus or Buddhist monks or well you get my drift. I might be a Jewish atheist socialist, but foremost I’m a secularist & thus will staunchly support the right of any person to practice their religious beliefs freely with the obvious caveat they respect secular law & don’t persecute others who don’t believe in whatever it is they do or use their religious belief as an excuse for bigotry against any section of society.
I’m so sick & tired of men telling Muslim women not to wear a burka or a hijab, it might amaze some men to learn that the vast majority of Muslim women actually CHOOSE to wear a burka or a hijab & it should be the choice of any Muslim woman what they should wear. Telling Muslim women what & what not to wear isn’t just Islamophobic but misogynistic as it is telling any women what they ought to wear, but hey hate is the bottom line with the far-right whether it’s antisemitism or Islamophobia or misogyny, its always just about hating some other group of people.
